Always Summer At Home

I daydream of

sunset-embedded evenings

cocooned in humid warmth, whether

looking out from the back door in solitude

or embracing the immortal summer;

exploring the neighborhood

being a boisterous

beachside town, and

manifesting this

hope with the independence

that came with me when

I first developed my respective love

for it.

Imagine if this was my home,

the practical tropics

enriching who I am

as a woman,

and all on my own

with my childhood recalled.

We didn't dub ourselves star-crossed

while on the edge of a drifted youth,

however two years touched both of

our faces and

turned them towards each other

without even whispering about

what was yet to be

comprised of our 

newborn bond ahead.

Such a coincidence,

as we soon discovered,

swayed to the climate of

our worlds mixed as one

and we were strong enough to

stay in place whenever the mixture

poured down on us...

This makes me wonder if

this wonderful balance

is a foreshadow of

a future cushion in which

we will both be bound to

rest upon together.

I can only hope

for a blossoming portal

that leads to a fresh chapter

away from this

suffocated travesty

of a life.

It's like I've been

confined to an overdue youth

and I'm surviving on

its mold;

I'm ailing after breakdowns

and annoyed with the flavor

yet living in
