Chapter 8: Candles
I stretched out in my luxurious bed as a small smile crept across my lips. I'd never felt so blissful and suddenly, the world seemed like a much kinder place.
Everett Tucker kissed me.
I giggled and squished my face into one of the fluffy white pillows on my bed. I'm such a girl, I'm a damn girly, goody-good, unicorn and rainbows loving girl and I didn't mind – at least, not at the moment.
A month ago I would've hated myself profusely for becoming this gushy person, but I honestly couldn't stop acting this way. Everett made me happy, happier than I'd ever thought possible. Oh god, just thinking about his lips on mine caused shots of electricity to sizzle through my veins. I'd never imaged I'd feel this way, be this way.
I sat up and covered my mouth with my hands. A wave of uncontrollable emotions bubbled in my heart as I remembered every touch from last night. I squealed and scrambled up to start jumping about the room like a little kid.
I know, I probably looked absolutely ridiculous, but I was overjoyed and overwhelmed in that moment. It just had to be a dream, what could I have possibly done to deserve him?Deserve... this?
I collapsed back onto the bed and put my hand against my racing heart. I could feel myself changing and I knew I soon wouldn't recognize the girl who'd first crouched on the treetops of the eastern forest.
I closed my eyes and breathed in slowly to calm myself. After a few minutes, I'd decided I was ready to face the day.
Slipping off the side of the bed, I ran my fingers through my hair and gazed down at my bedside table. I raised my eyebrows as I noticed there had been a small note left there. Blinking rapidly, I clutched the note and sat at the edge of my bed before reading.
I hope you slept well Miss. Giggles. If you're feeling up to it, meet me down by the stables in the morning and bring the light jacket that'll be brought to you.
–The guy you drive crazy
I felt my cheeks redden as I trailed my fingertips across his elegant handwriting; if this was a dream, I certainly never wanted to wake up.

I skipped down the stairs happily as I pulled at the zipper of my beige jacket. Silvia had brought the article of clothing to me moments after I'd finished reading Everett's letter. I chewed my lip as I felt the incredibly soft material and high quality stitching, it practically screamed expensive. I really hope Everett didn't spend too much on it, although it was generous, it felt weird to be spoiled. I knew he had money, probably more than I could imagine, but that didn't mean I wanted him to shower me with gifts. I liked Everett and his pack, whether they were wealthy or not.
I sighed, stepping through one of the exit doors and out to the courtyard just before the stable. I half-smiled as I heard the familiar sound of pounding hooves; Everett had probably been riding all morning.
