Darkness... More darkness... And even more darkness. That's what Jordan saw. His whole body felt numb. 'Wait... I feel? I am supposed to be dead... Am I in hell?' he thought.
"Please Jordan... Please wake up!" he heard a female voice call out to him.
'Hn... Strange... From what I know, there aren't supposed to be angels in hell...' he thought. This was the way he would describe this voice. Angelic. Soothing. 'But... Wake up?'
"Give him some space Natalie... And you should get some sleep!" he heard another female voice, possibly scolding the owner of the first one.
'Natalie?' Jordan though perplexed 'So... I'm not dead? Then where am I?' he felt himself twitching. A small groan escaped his lips as his left eye started to flutter.
"Look! He's waking up!" an excited male voice spoke.
As his eye opened, he started taking note of his surroundings. The first thing he saw, was the familiar face of his travelling companion. But it was lacking its usual happiness. Her face was filled with sadness and concern. Jordan didn't know why, but it pained him to see his usually annoyingly overjoyed companion so sad. She was sitting in a chair next to his hospital bed, holding his hand.
'Hospital bed?' he realized that he was wearing an oxygen mask. A plastic tube with serum was connected to his left arm.
He slightly tilted his head and saw three other figures behind the blonde ranger. Maylene and Theo were the ones that were closer to her, while Cameron stood a few feet behind.
A nurse walked towards him "Well, look who is finally up! How are you feeling?" she asked cheerfully.
Jordan inwardly rolled his eyes... Well, his eye... 'Oh, great, aside from the fact that I'm stuck in a hospital bed!' he thought sarcastically "Hn."
The nurse smiled a friendly smile "It's good to finally see you up. You've been out cold for quite a while, you know!" she mused.
Jordan nodded as the nurse removed his oxygen mask "How... Long?" he whispered hoarsely.
The nurse shifted "Ah, well... For quite a while..." she said.
Jordan, not satisfied with the answer, glanced at Natalie "Blondie... How long?" he asked.
Natalie seemed surprised that he asked her. She averted her gaze "Well..."
Jordan's open eye glared at Natalie "How... Long... Was... I... Out... For?" he asked, with a more demanding voice.
Natalie hesitated, before sighing and looking at Jordan "Four days..." she mumbled.
Jordan's visible eye widened "Four... Days?!" he asked shocked. Well that explained his sorry state. He was currently dressed in hospital gown, and his right arm was bandaged along with half his face, fully covering his right eye. He also got a better look at his room. The walls were painted white. His bed was opposite the door, a small table next to it. There was also a small closed-off section in the corner of the room, which Jordan guessed was the bathroom.
Cameron walked forward "Well, thank Arceus you are alright. You had all of us worried sick." he smiled while nodding at Natalie "Natalie actually never left your bedside during the time you were in a coma." he informed him.
Natalie's face flushed, as Jordan slowly turned to look at her "You... Did?" he asked her slowly, now noticing the black circles under her eyes.
Natalie gulped as she averted her gaze "Well... Yeah, you had me, I mean us, really worried." she said fiddling with her fingers.
Maylene smirked "So worried that she hardly ate, took a blink of sleep, or used the bathroom." she said teasingly.
Theo smirked as well "Yeah, no kidding. I mean, I was worried too, but that didn't stop me from earning my third badge!" he said boastingly.
