I woke up the next morning looking miserable with bags and dark circles underneath my eyes. Looking at myself in the mirror right now just had me realising how miserable I really am.

My mom

Oh my mom

Who knows what she's going through.

It's all my fault.

I had a hard time sleeping late night cause this was all my kind was screaming at me, my heart was bleeding and hoping that my mom was okay.

"Adrianna! Hey, you okay in there?!". I hear Jayden yelling and banging on the door, startling me but removing my thought of how I should punish myself for what I am causing my mom to go through.

"Hey, I'm fine. What happened? Why did you hit on the door and yell like that?". I said, utterly confused at his behavior.

"I thought you were gone or going to do something that we'll both regret. I'd been knocking on the door and calling your name for a few minutes before you heard. You okay?". He said, coming inside the room and looking at me intently before hugging me.

"It wasn't your fault at all. I just want you to know that, and I also want you to know that you're not alone, I'm here for you. I cancelled the class trip to 7 days from now cause I really want you to go". He says as he let go but stays close looking into my eyes and I looked into his and he leans in to kiss me but shakes his head and steps back, but what i do shocks the both of us.

I held his hand as he was about to go and stood on my toes to kiss him. As soon as my lips touched his, he sighed and held me so passionately that I felt wanted for once in my life.

We pulled apart and his eyes were still closed as if savoring the moment. Immediately he opened his eyes, I gasped because of the emotions I saw swirling in his eyes. It looked like adoration, want, love, and lust, but I think I'm wrong cause it can't be. I mean I don't even know him much.

"Adrianna, I - I wanna know what you were running from yesterday. Who are 'they'?". He asked the same questions that I've been avoiding knowing it was inevitable.

"They're no one Jayden". I started saying but seeing the defeated expression on his face made me change my mind.
"I think they're a group or gang, I don't know anything about them apart from the similar tattoos they have. They're after me, they've been after me since forever, and I don't know why. That's why I've been changing location and why I don't get attached to people, so whatever this is that we're doing should please stop for both our sakes". I say bluntly not wanting to sugar coat it at all, so he'll understand me well.

"Whatever we have going on, I wanna make it official but I know you're not ready yet, that's why I've been restraining myself. Please don't kill what hasn't even started." Jayden says cupping my face and placing his fore-head on mine.

"Jayden, this will do us no good. I'm not fit for any relationship as I won't want to put your life or anyone's in danger because of me. If you get involved with me, they'll come after you too". I say, moving away from him but he comes closer again and said.

"If you don't already know, I'm already involved because there's no way in hell I'm letting you go again". He says, looking at me and smiling lightly "oh and welcome to your new home". Still smiling but a lil wider now.

"You don't have to Jayden. I'll be okay on my own". I say shaking my head and demonstrating a 'no' with my hand.

"It seems like you've not been hearing what I've been saying. Even if I wanted to, I can't let you go especially with those men on the loose. As a matter of fact, I'm not letting you out of my sight". He said almost authoritatively at the end and I kinda liked it.

"Yes, Prince Jayden". I said bowing and laughing a little. I never forgot all the commotion he made in high school with that title.

"You don't believe I'm a prince, do you?". He asks lightly laughing and tilting his head studying my reaction I think.

"Of course I don't, it was always so funny how girls were fawning over you thinking you were a prince. I honestly never believed that". I said, laughing loudly and saw him staring at me smiling wide.

"You'll believe soon enough and by the way I love the way you laugh". He says, walking out the door. "Come down let s microwave the food and eat he said from outside the door.

I ate the eggs and pancakes he made and it was soooo nice, who knew he could cook. He cleared the plates no matter how many times I protested, he could be really stubborn sometimes, well, most of the time.

"Now, let's talk about how we're gonna find out more on the 'tattoo guys', what they want from you and devise a plan to rescue your mom". He said coming from the kitchen to the living room where I was sitting.
