A.N Ok, shorter chapter. But I had to cut it there. Remember the three magical words! Vote, fan and feedback!

I continued down the hallway, luckily nobody else came through it. The first floor was full of empty classrooms and, as I squinted against the bright light of the sun after the barely lit corridors, a cafeteria. Windows! I thought excitedly before squelching my next thoughts and my excited glee. Don't want any Telepaths to hear, or Empaths to feel. I made sure I couldn't hear people coming from all the attached halls and opened the window. I relished the gentle breeze as I climbed through the cathedral styled window. My feet landed soundlessly on the grass as I checked to make sure no one was around. I sprinted across the large clearing and into the cover of the woods. Grateful for the cover, I slipped through the woods unnoticed...

Crap. I thought as I watched the guard patrolled the perimeter. He had a walkie talkie on his hip, as well as a sword and daggers. I waited for him to walk by, but then another guard appeared. Apparently there were a lot of them. I tried to see if third time would be the charm, but as soon as she walked out of sight, another guard came out whistling. I picked up a rock and weighted it. I waited. Waited. Waited. Now. I stood up and hurled the rock at his head. Thumb, he hit the ground. I checked his pulse. Still alive. I took the walkie talkie and turned it on the lowest volume. I stepped around his motionless body and continued on. Ten minutes later, I was at the road. The single, lonely road was the only thing that connected my prison to the outside road. I started out by walking on it, listening intently to the walkie talkie. I even stuck out my thumb whenever a car passed. The radio was quiet. The road was quiet. The surrounding area was quiet. An hour and a half later, I was starting to wonder how bad I damaged the guard. I've walked several kilometres.

Patrol to base, patrol to base, do you read me? Over. The noise scared the shit out of me, but I turned it up and listened to the conversation.

Roger that patrol, we hear you. Over.

Base, we have a situation. Over. Get to the point already, I wanted to shout.

What's the situation? Over. We have a patrol guard here who says he was knocked out by a teenage girl. Over.

Knocked out? Can he give a description of her? Over.

She has brown hair, pale skin. But that's all I saw. Over. Said the guard I knocked out, his voice recognizable to his earlier whistling.

Do you know what she wanted? Did she ask for something? Take anything? Over.

Negative, she didn't talk. But she took the walkie talkie. Over.

We will check for missing students, but she could be listening. Over.

Unconfirmed, I believe she only took it to make sure I couldn't contact you. Over.

Only one student is missing, said a new voice, female this time. New student Ivy Tiensee. Five foot six, brown hair, blue eyes, pale skin, sixteen year old Hemi. She also has a marking on her arms that resemble lightning. Over.

Patrol, switch to LC. Over.

Roger that. Switching to LC. Over.

LC must have been Language Code or something, because after that, I couldn't understand a word they said. But I knew my queue. I turned off the walkie talkie and got off the road to start walking through the forest once again, something I did not do before because of the uneven terrain. I didn't run, but I was much more cautious. I froze when a green van slowly drove by. Soon, I saw the sign directing me to the nearest town. Only a few kilometres away. I picked up the pace, always keeping the road in sight as a guide when I heard the noise of people. I ran now, watching my feet to make sure I didn't step on a branch. I saw the twinkling lights of the town up ahead as dusk fell. My legs pumped, my adrenaline high, I soared through the woods. I tripped. I looked at the root in surprise, I know it wasn't their before. It snaked out and tried to grab me, but I rolled out of the way, shot up and ran. I heard the curse of the Geokinect who had tried grabbing me before shouting "She's over here!" and report to base that he spotted the girl. I went onto the road, no point in secrecy now. And it was safer from those who had geokinesis. I sprinted as fast as I could, not caring about being quiet now. The Geokinect took out a gun and shot at me, but missed. I decided on the woods again, less chance of being hit by bullets. Towards the light, towards the light, I chanted. Ironic now that I might be seeing a different light soon. With a wishhh through the air. The bullet hit my back. Darkness engulfed me.

A.N, dont worry, its not the last chapter of the book. But it might be for Ivy...
