2. Normal first day at camp.

Max's POV

David, Gwen, Campbell and I exit the Mess-Hall as the bus comes to a halt. I was surprised the thing even still works, the noises it made sounded like a cat being pushed through a meat grinder and the black smoke it emitted didn't indicate anything good.

The busses doors weren't even fully open before Nikki came barreling out on all 4's, I had known her for years now and she had never lost the manic energy she had when we were younger or her animalistic tendencies.

"MAAAAAXXXXX!" Nikki had spotted me and had charged me, tackling onto my back and dirtying my trademark hoodie in the process.

"Hey Nik, How have you been?"

"Great! It's so good to see you, It feels like it been forever since I saw you."

"Nik, Its been like three weeks." Me, Nik and Neal had ended up going to the same school, after I was legally adopted by David and Gwen, I had spent the last two years in a town close to Camp, Balt. But I didn't spend it alone after being visited by Nikki, Neal, Neal's Dad and Nikki's Mom. (Who had gotten married after reconnecting at the end of the previous summer) Nik and Neals's parents fell in love with the sleepy town of Balt and around a month later, they were living 2 blocks away from me.

"Yeah, but three weeks is like forever." She dragged the ever out.

"Hey Max." I turned to see the other member of our trio complete with his new thick rimmed glasses.

"Hey nerd."

"Ha Ha, very funny and original."

"Well you are a nerd Neil."

"How has the past few weeks been without us?" Neil asked, I assumed trying to change the topic.

"Oh horrible, you know I've spent the past week or so not dealing with whiny assholes."

"Hey!"

"Sorry one whiny asshole and you Nikki." I corrected.

"Hey!'

"What that one was correct." Nikki giggled.

"Anyway." Neil begins, again trying to change the topic. "...Me and Nikki should get set up."

I led them to where the tents where last year, Now after David bought the Camp last year as it was left to him after Campbell faked his death (LONG STORY) we spent some weekends and holiday breaks fixing up the camp with the money Campbell had left him in his will, these upgrades included: Hot water; Larger showers; A better canteen and most importantly CABINS!

I'd obviously told Nikki and Neil about the cabins, hell they even helped build them... Well they didn't actually help with the process of building, Neal helped with the architecture and Nikki helped move the supplies.

The cabins where a decent size with each housing 2 beds, 2 trunks and 2 wardrobes for the 2 campers who'll be staying in them, I was able to sneak a peak at the housing arrangements, I got Neil as a bunkmate. Now however big a nerd Neil is, I was glad I got him over people like Nerf or Spacekid.

After spending the next hour messing about and letting Neil set up as I had already unpacked last night. We were called for dinner. As I spent my time eating half overcooked - half cold pizza prepared by QuarterMaster I kept thinking about what the hell QuarterMaster actually was? I used to think he lived at camp. But every summers end he would walk into the forest and wouldn't reappear until next summers beginning. He could be paranormal like something from those weird novels Gwen read but then I realised he was starting to sound like Neil and I stopped thinking about that.

After dinner we all sat round the campfire roasting marshmallows, telling ghosts-stories and quivering cause some those ghosts-stories were too scary in such as a few other campers cases. David stood up and pulled his guitar from god knows where and began to sing.

"There's a place I know thats tucked away..." But before he could continue, something landed in front of him. It was a canister that began pumping out some green gas which immediately took affect and everyone began dropping unconscious. Even I began to feel drowsy as I hit the ground I was able to see a symbol printed on the canister.
