Journal of Experiences: A moment in our lives

Dear Kofi,

Today was a good day. Yandra and I went to Paqueta Island, do you know where it is? It's a small island near Rio's Downtown. The only way to go is by ship and it's very fun. In 50 minutes or less we've arrived in Paqueta.

The place is really cool. There is a small village, with houses that remember the colonial age. Before portuguese's takeover of brazilian territory, the land was inhabited by indigenous people. But the advance of troops from Portugal killed almost every native in the island. There are so many tributes to them, like statues, street names, etc.

There are many places to know in Paqueta and you can go to every one of them in just one afternoon. They have guide tours and rent bikes to tourists. And man, do you know I love bikes, right?

So, Yandra and I started to ride our bikes across the island and we knew a lot of beautiful places like small churches, a pier, a rock called "the lovers rock" and, most important of all, a beautiful lighthouse. Man, I love lighthouses! I watched them in the movies and I always have the desire to visit one.

And I was in Paquetá. But it was scary to me. Do you remember my height fear? Yes, man, it came back in full force in that day because the lighthouse was high and surrounded by the sea. And man, do you know that I don't know how to swim, right? The water was shallow but, like Lady Gaga said, I want to be far from the shallow in that moment.

And the wind was strong. Man, I thought I was fallling every time I made a move. But we were there to take some pictures, the place was awesome and also the pictures either because me and Yandra are good photographers.

By the end of the trip, we need to cross the island in less than five~ten minutes because if we didn't, we would probably lose the ship to return. And the other was only 1 hour after. Man, we were very hungry and tired. The day was awesome, but we need to take a nap.

Bro, this day was one of the best trips that I've ever made. The place is cool, the way to arrive is cool, they have cheap bikes to rent. Man, I've loved this day. I really want to come back and bring you and the guys. Yeah, I want a romantic walk with you too. Just kidding, but we can take lovely pictures, hah? Joking again. But man, it was a great day.
