Dear reader,
Today I had a hard and difficult day. It was the day of my psychological examination in the Brazilian Air Force, one of the steps to get started in the military career, after the written exam.
The Psichology Institute of the Air Force is at Center of Rio and I live in West Zone, about 30 km of distance and the anxiety swallowed everything inside me.
I managed to get up early, together with the birds and chickens in the outside, or better saying, I hadn't slept.
It was a sunny day, without clouds in the sky and the hottest of year, so far.
My psychological examination was at 6am and I went out from home 5am to take the bus. I would take about 30 or 40 minutes by bus, there were no cars or too many people on the streets, then it would not be difficult arrive there with enough time.
During the trajectory I finally felt sleepy, so when I was couting sheeps in my dreams I heard a strong noise.
Another bus crashed on the bus that I was in. So, I only looked my watch and thought "My God, help me in this moment, I need to arrive in time to do my psychological examination".
I went out of the crashed bus and ran until the next bus that was stopped in the bus stop, I didn't even saw to which place this bus was going, I just wanted to arrive in the Center of Rio. When I saw the watch on the Central do Brasil I got out from the bus and ran one more time in the direction that I thought that was right.
I looked the hour, sweating and panting, and I only had 10 minutes to find the right place. I don't remember where exactly I was, I just remember that I was running like a fugitive.
I asked to sellers in the streets, cops, traffic guards and with their information I could go to the right way. So, when I had only 2 minutes I was thinking that I was lost in the Center of Rio, almost crying because I would have to studyeverything on more time and to get the approbation
again, I turn left in the next corner and saw something written on the wall: "Comando da Aeronáutica". I was the last candidate that arrived in that place and I was so grateful for it that I forgot for one minute that I was sweating and very tired. I kept calm and took the elevator until the 9° floor to do my psychological examination.
Thanks God, everything was great and I was approved. Now I was waiting the next step, the physical exam.
Brian.
