Chapter 13: No going back

Harry's POV

The screams and the pain feel distance. Harry can feel them slipping away.

He opens his eyes to see Dumbledore. He is smiling kindly. Draco is next to him, crying.

"Harry, it's time to go." Dumbledore says. Harry's throat hurts, but he murmurs a word.

"N-no." All the words he can't say swirl in his head, dancing mockingly.

"Harry, make this easier for both of us." Dumbledore tells Harry. But he can't leave. What about Draco?

"N-not yet. P-please." He murmurs.

Draco is yelling out something, but Harry can't hear him. All he can hear are Dumbledore's comforting words. All he can see is a hand stretches out for him. Then...

"M-mum? D-dad?" Harry gasps out. Lily and James Potter stand next to Dumbledore.

"Son, we love you so much." Lily says. Harry can feel tears rolling down his cheeks.

"We are so proud of you, Harry. We wish we could have seen you grow up." His father says. He reaches his hand out towards his parents.

"Harry, it's time. You can come join us now." His mother comforts.

"Come. Our family will be whole once more." James murmurs.

"Come join us, Harry." Sirius says. Harry can feel himself getting lighter. Maybe he'll join his family again.
