Sally's 30 day writing challenge

Day 28: 1984

"What is it?" Derek asks shakin a black box.
"I think its a safe." Jaime replies poking the box.
"How old do you think it is?"
"I don't know maybe 10 to 15 years. We need to try to open it though, who knows we could be rich." Jamie falls to his knees to where the numbers on the box are. "Um... maybe." He says typing in 123.
"Do you really think it's going to be 123, do you think this person would be dumb enough to put 123. Try the year."
"This what year?" Jamie asks looking for any prints on the number pad.
"Um... lets see, i think it could be this year, 1984."
"If you really think so." Jamie starts writing the numbers in."
"I was just kidding yo-" before Derek could finnish that sentence the door on the safe flys open.
"1984?" They both say in confusion.
