He looked her in the eyes and Eveline looked back. Something in his eyes told her she could trust him, the soft grey eyes showed compassion and understanding, they also showed excitement and life. And that's what made Eveline grab his hand and allow him to take her up into the air.

The air was cool just how you would describe a warm summer night. Eveline looked down in amazement as the grassy hill below her started to decrease in size.

Luke held onto Eveline's hand as she got used to the feeling of her wings. They beat against the sky hard and heavily collecting the wind then pushing her up. Eveline looked up just in time to see Luke pull her through a cloud.

She braced her face not really knowing what to expect, but as soon as she broke through the surface she relaxed. The cloud was soft as silk and had a gentle smell of rain. Luke continued to pull her up until they were above the cloud line.

"Oh my god," Eveline looked around in astonishment. The bright white moon reflected gently off the clouds giving them a dark blue metallic look. The cloud line went on for miles and you couldn't see the ground underneath.

It was a magical sight something out of a fairy tale and Luke was the one who guided her here. Luke gently let go of her hand and Eveline flew off with the biggest smile on her face.  She flew up in the sky feeling the breeze touch her cheeks to move down and be collected by her wings. The more she flew the more she felt free, her heart screamed with joy as she tilted her head back and allowed her body to fall back down to the earth.

Then opening her wings just before the cloud line as she flew across it. Eveline reached out her hand and stroked them against the cloud. It flew through her fingertips then back out as soft as marshmallows. The feeling was satisfying and it filled Eveline with happiness.

'Whoosh' Eveline looked to her left to see Luke spin up in the air his wings closing around him doing several 360 turns then open back up again. His hair glinted in the moonlight and his single blonde strand bobbed around just grazing his eyebrow.

He moved gracefully through the air like a ballerina dancing through the night. He looked over at Eveline and smiled flying over to her and taking her hand in his. "What do you think?"

"It's amazing!" Eveline couldn't hide the giant smile on her face. "Thank you," She looked at him taking in his giant eyes that were focused on only her. "Anytime,"

Present-day

Eveline looked Luke straight in the eyes and felt herself crack. His grey stormy eyes took her under control and she couldn't stop her self. She couldn't put up a fake emotion wall around him.

She couldn't pretend she was ok and she couldn't lie to him. Her whole body started to shake and her bottom lip trembled as she couldn't keep her emotions hidden anymore. She broke down into tears allowing all her feeling to flow out in the form of sorrow.

Luke instantly took Eveline into his arms. "Hey, hey, it's ok I'm here," Eveline's sobs grew louder as she clung onto him for dear life. Luke knew exactly what had happened it all made sense now, it infuriated him that her parents would do that.

He understood her pain all too well and knew that silence was sometimes the best. He didn't ask questions he didn't speak at all. He only stroked her hair comforting her. He stayed like this until Eveline's breathing calmed down and her sobs quietened.

"Eveline," Luke spoke softly he continued to stroke her hair. "Come to the safe house with me," Eveline looked up at him. She loved his eyes just as much as she loved his smell. He returned the look looking into her eyes and could tell he was going to do everything in his power to protect her.
