Everything was perfect for me.
Was.
Not until she came. Nasira lahat ng paghihirap at pagsisikap ko sa buhay na nagdala sa akin sa tagumpay. Not that I lost to life or I failed but because I found myself going back to the least me with all my heart, willingly. Again.
Back then I just want to be successful. Nangarap ng simple para makatayo sa sariling mga paa... noon. Pero ngayon, nag-iba ang lahat. I found someone where my successes are not enough.
"Mr. Serez, I don't know that you are here."
I took the hand of Cyan Elegante. A friend of mine during college.
"Ikaw rin. How's work?" Umupo siya sa katabing upuan at umorder ng inumin.
I threw my sight at the hyper people in the middle of the dance floor while drinking. Puro celebrities ang nandito but due to a successful deal today with another company outside the country, I was dragged here. Now they are not around. Uuwi nalang siguro ako mamaya pagkatapos kong makausap si Cyan.
"It's okay. I'm planning to expand it more but looks like our youngest is up for it already." He laughed.
He's married and I can feel that he is already trying to accept a family life. Well, not working is not a problem to him. I'm sure.
"Have a great family man!"
"Ikaw ba, wala pang balak?" Ininom ko lahat ng nasa baso at umorder muna bago sinagot ang kaibigan.
"Wala." He laughed again. Hindi makapaniwala.
"Vin, you're already twenty-three and successful. Man, girls flock with you. Grab someone already!"
Inilapag ng bartender ang in-order ko pero hindi ko iyon pinansin. Maski ang sinasabi ni Cyan ay hindi ko na nasundan.
Sweet smiles and soft eyes caught my attention.
"Vin." I looked at Cyan.
"Ang sabi ko bakit hindi ka pa nag-asawa?" Tumawa siyang muli.
Hindi ko rin naman siya nasagot dahil may naglalaro sa isipan ko. And I don't damn want it. Parang may mali.
"I better go. Tatakasan ko nalang din ang mga alaga namin dito."
Tinapik niya ang balikat ko bago umalis. Kagaya ko ay naaya lang din siya siguro dito. This bar is a corner dedicated to the celebrities that different companies raise, not us whom they work with.
I brought my eyes back to the crowd but she's already gone. Disappointed, tinapos ko sa isang lagok ang iniinom at nagbayad na. I ignored the people who called me in the ocean of crowd. Parang magakakasala ako kung may papansinin pa akong iba.
To my surprise, bago pa ako tuluyang makaalis ay nakita ko siyang nagpupumiglas sa isang lalaki. I tried to ignore it but I let my ears to be updated. Baka boyfriend niya.
Deep within me boiled down to anger dahil sa naisip. Pero mas nadepina iyon nang marinig ko ang hinaing niya sa lalaki at ang kanilang usapan.
"Leave with me. Let's go somewhere," the guy said and I can't stop but walk silently near them.
"Fuck you! Bitiwan mo ako!" I was kind of stunned because of her powerful voice.
My girl, you look so strong but let me take care of this.
"Bakit may magagalit? Ayaw mo ma-issue kasama ako? The great and low-key model is dating an international actor?"
International actor his face. I barely see such ugly face in the industry. What more sa labas ng bansa?
