Song for the chapter:• Kill This Love by BLACKPINK
"You don't have to do this!" My words are hurried from the feeling of panic taking over. The knife is waved in front of me, taunting me. A sudden flick of the blade is all that separates the line of life and death.
"I don't," he muses. The tip of the blade is pressed against my face, slightly nicking the skin. "But you'll run to the police if I let you go. We can't have that now, can we?"
"I won't tell."
"I won't tell." He mimics while retracting the blade. "I slightly believe that considering how stingy you are with your shitty social media secrets."
Oh my gosh! I'll give him all of my secrets if I had any.
He sighs. "I put in so much work for nothing."
Could it be that Mark was the one in the background of my post from our first night here? He could have located our rental home from the snaps I posted when we first arrived here, then commenced his stalking.
I wish I listened to Jungkook all the times in the past when he warned me about posting too much. Better yet, I wish I called the police days ago when everyone expressed their concern. Stupid, naive me had to think it was all a prank.
Mark's phone chimes which indicates a new notification.
"Huening Kai is live streaming!" He gasps. "He's so cool."
He's already moved on to someone else. Great. Maybe he'll let me go.
"He kinda looks like your little pretend boyfriend," he says lowly. "But I'm sure he'd actually notice if the person he 'dated' were missing."
"I'm sure he also wouldn't kidnap someone for social media tips."
"Whatever."
"Whatever." He gets back to watching the live stream; I roll my eyes.
There's a deciduous path leading up to the top of the falls. It's night time, I've never been to this part of the falls before. Therefore, it should be too dark for me to notice. Yet, there's a bright light shining along the way.
The light highlights a person with a sharp jawline.
They're wearing a black hoodie.
