Monday morning, Tom and I were back to normal, but I was still no closer to finding out this problem that was bothering him.

Lunchtime arrived and I took a quick detour to the creche downstairs so I could see Jacob before I rushed outside to Adam's car.

He got out of the car as soon as he saw me leave the building, "Everything ok, Mrs. Parker?"

"I hate to ask this, but I need to know what the conversation was about on Saturday in Tom's office. About the woman demanding money."

Adam shifted on his feet, looking uncomfortable for the first time since I've known him, "I'm sorry, Ma'am, that's really between you and Mr. Parker." He muttered. "It's not my place to tell you."

"I'm not a Ma'am, thank you. And it's bad isn't it? Who is she?"

"Mrs. Parker, I can't, I'm sorry."

I shook my head and scowled in frustration. I stomped off to the nearest café to pick up my lunch before heading back to my office.

After I had finished eating, my office phone started to ring so I picked the receiver up, "Hello? Sorry, SP Publishers, how can I help?" I greeted.

"Don't hang up!" Tristan's voice begged down the phone.

I dropped the pen I was holding and held my breath.

"Please, S –."

I hung up the phone quickly and let out my breath, shaking my head.

He was the last person I wanted to talk to. I hadn't spoken to him for months since our kiss outside the alleyway. The worst month of my life when Tom had left me after I told him about the kiss. I promised myself that I would never speak to or see Tristan Wood ever again! And I was keeping that promise.

I heard Kat's phone ringing outside my office, and I held my breath again. What was the chance that it was him? A second later, there was a knock on the door. I called out for Kat to come in and she popped her head around the door.

"Soph... erm, Tristan is on the phone. Do you want me to put him through?" she asked nervously.

"No, I've just hung up on him. Tell him I don't want to speak to him." I stated.

Kat nodded and closed the door behind her.

Maybe he would finally get the hint that I never wanted to speak to him again.

I sighed as another knock sounded on my door, "Come in."

Kat entered again with a small smile on her face, "I've told him not to contact you again. Is everything ok?"

Kat knew everything about the kiss and about mine and Tom's separation for that month, so I knew I had nothing to hide from her.

I shook my head, "I promised myself I would never speak to him or see him again. I owe it to Tom. I've got his trust back and nothing is changing that ever again." I confided in Kat.

"I will block his number from the company phone if he tries to call again. I'm glad you and Tom are ok again." Kat smiled at me.

"Thank you, Kat."

She nodded and left my office again. I exhaled sharply and continued with my job. Before I could even start my paperwork, my phone rang again. I sighed and picked it up, "SP Publishers?"

"Mrs. Parker. It's Steve, front entrance security here."

"Oh?"

"There's a Tristan Wood here who is demanding to see you, but he doesn't have an appointment."
