They placed me in a spacious room where there was one bed and you can actually see the outside world through bars of window. I can tell properly now that they chose an abandoned prison as a hide out.
“Well get you a doctor princess,” one of the goons said as they left me in the room. As soon as they left me, I immediately searched for a way to escape. I’m desperate. I need to keep Haruka safe.
I checked the bars on the window first to see if they crumpled with age but it felt like the metals were still as tough as ever. Then I checked a hole at the wall to see if I could escape from there but I don’t even fit there which is a total bummer ‘cause it leads to another room which means a way out. I could try forcing my way there but it’s only as big as my head, there’s no way I could fit my body there.
I was in the middle of finding a route out when the doorknob started to jiggle. There’s no other way, Plan B I guess. I told myself as I pinned myself on the wall near the door. This is where years of martial arts training are measured. I added, bracing myself. And as the door opened at last, I gave the first person to enter the room the most powerful high kick I could which made him fall down immediately crashing the other goons along.
Run! I shouted mentally when I finally got my chance to escape.
“Oi, the girl is getting away. After her!” Another goon said and the next thing I knew, a flock of them is in my tail.
Damn it! I said to myself. I punched and kicked and struggle every time one of the hoodlums gets to me. I ran as fast as possible to where Haruka is supposed to be but for some reason, I can’t find that room.
“Gotcha!” One of the goons said aloud as he was able to give me a bear hug, enclosing me in his arms. “Let go you gorilla you,” I said as I struggled to get away from his grip.
“What am I, stupid?” He said with a roar of laughter. I tried my best to get away from him but my strength slowly faded and next thing I knew, my willpower vanished. Everything turned blank; there was dead silence except for the thunderous laughter that’s ringing in my ear. I’m slowly starting to see my future—death.
“Let go of her!” I heard someone scream aloud and the next thing I knew, the gorilla looking thug was down at the ground and Ryota right there beside me with a bat in hand.
“Ryo—Ryota-kun!” I said excitedly when I saw him there giving him a big hug in pure relief. “Thank you,” I said grateful to see him again. “Oh thank God you’re okay,” he said as he hugged me back tightly.
“Save the love for later, we have enemies to deal with,” Matsuru said appearing out of nowhere together with Shuichi and some other people I recognize as workers for the Shinjuku lake rest house pointing at the bunch of thugs who were encircling their fallen companion.
“You’ll pay for this,” one of them screamed. “And you’ll pay for taking the people precious to me,” Shuichi said in pure rage as he jumped to them carelessly. Matsuru and Ryota followed close behind.
With all their efforts, they fought as if it’s the last fight they’re gon’na fight. They did the best they could knowing that it’s a do or die effort. I watch them fight graciously alongside one another but then next thing I knew, someone was shooting guns and we all docked into the ground no questions asked.
“My…what a beautiful display of stupidity. A bunch of kids delving into a lair with only a single bat and knuckles for weapon and a bunch of stupid hoodlums who preferred to use there fists when they have guns tied on their wastes,” Gabriella Go, the actress that had been hunting us together with her yakuza partner shouted aloud and firing a bullet straight to one of their goon’s head.
“Kyahh!” I screamed aloud as the thug fell dead on my feet.
“That’s what happens to stupid people,” she added. “Masao, it’s time!” She said with a smirk on her face and her yakuza boyfriend immediately came out of the scene then.
“Good, they’re all here. Great! We can start the hunt,” he said with a booming laughter and everyone else started to laugh along as well, except for us of course. He grabbed a gun from Gabriella and strode his way to us.
“It had been fun little wimps but this game is about to end,” he said menacingly as he stared at each and every one of us. He pointed a gun on Ryota’s forehead then and placed his finger on the trigger of the gun. But as he was about to fire, police sirens started filling all over the place. Ryota had an evil smirk on his face as panic was evident on the faces of the yakuzas.
“Shit!” The guy named Masao said in frustration as he scrambled to escape from the scene.
“We…we’re safe?” I can’t help but ask confusingly as the thought really haven’t hit me yet but Ryota just looked at me then with a smile on his face and said, “Yeah, guess so.” I looked at everyone else, their smiles adding to my relief. Finally, we’re safe!
