"Stop running from me Little Girl, I will catch you !"

I was running and it felt like I wasn't moving fast enough because the man was hot on my heels.  Of course I tripped on some tree root and fall flat on my face.

I quickly turned on my back and had the butt of a gun pointed at me. I froze.

"Please ! You don't have to do this !" I pleaded with the man.

"You saw too much. I can't risk you blabbing to the police." He said, releasing the safety.

"No please ! I promise I won't tell anyone I swear !" I said and then the gun went off and I woke up screaming in bed.

Detective Manning came rushing into my hotel room and sat on the side of the bed as I embraced her crying.

"It's okay Ellie." She cooed rubbing the back of my head. "Vega doesn't know your here, you're safe."

I cried into her night shirt and just sat there sobbing. I'm currently under the protection of the Police known as The Witness Protection Program after I saw Vega shoot my Parents.

"Are you sure he doesn't know ?" I asked.

"Yes, I promise. Once we get you far away with a new identity. He won't be the wiser." She said. "We won't let anything happen to you."

I nodded my head and sat up in bed wiping my tear stained cheeks. Ever since that night, I've had recurring nightmares of Vega finding me.

6 Months Later
Long Beach,California

I looked at a picture of my dearly departed Parents on my dresser. It was a happier time. In that Life, My name was Ellie Winters.

Now, I go by Lola Quinn. My life consists of making smoothies and serving yogurt on the beach. Being that I was being hunted by my Parents killer, I couldn't stay in Chicago which was where I was before my life changed forever.

It's been 6 months and they still haven't found Vega. Detective Manning said he took off after I managed to get away and flag down the police but I knew he was still probably looking for me.

If they catch him, I'd stand to testify to what I saw him do to my Parents. I hope to God they catch him. And I hope he never finds me.

It's been hard adjusting to my new reality but thankfully, I've met amazing people. Gina the nice elderly lady who let me stay in her house broken into apartments. Leighton a girl I met working at the Smoothie place I managed to snag with my fake identity.

But my life is a lie. One big fabrication. No one knows that Lola Quinn isn't my real name. To everyone, Ellie Winter's disappeared. No one knew where I went, not my Aunt or Uncle. Not anyone. Only me.
