Witness- Ashton Irwin

Party !

"You ran into Ashton Irwin twice and you didn't tell me til now ?" Leighton said, to say she was fangirling be a understatement.

"I didn't know it was him until I asked !" I said. "Plus I literally just learned about them from you."

I couldn't believe I agreed to go to a party full of strangers. I was so nervous ! What if I screwed up ?

"This is awesome ! How did you get him to invite us to this party ?" Leighton squealed. "This could be our chance to get noticed !"

To be honest, I did nothing. He kinda just invited me ? It could have something to do with the fact he'd been flirting with me the day before. Did he like me ? Or was I just another potential fuck for him ?

"Slow your roll, Leigh. It's just a party." I said. "Now let's get ready please ?"

Leighton and I did our makeup and hair, then slip on our dresses. I look in the mirror and realize how short it is on me.

"Are you sure I should wear this, Leigh ?" I asked. "Isn't it a bit too raunchy ?"

Leighton shook her head and gave me some heels to match.

"Nonesense ! You need to look your best in case Ashton wants to ya know ?" She said making a jerking motion.

Leighton has no chill, seriously!

"Leighton ! We literally have only met 2 times !" I said.

"Lola you're 23 live a little !" She said. "Now let's go, maybe I can snag a date myself !"

Soon we were heading to the party, which was in a special ballroom that was converted into a night club type setting. Tons of people were already there.

"Wow." I said taking in the whole room.

The music was blasting from the speakers and couples were cuddled on the dance floor. There was a full bar on the far side of the room.

"Lola !"

Me and Leighton both turned around at the same time and see Ashton coming up. He was wearing black jeans and a black shirt, his hair was also a bit damp.

"Ashton, hi ! This is my friend Leighton." I said. "She's a big fan."

Leighton was just about ready to full out fangirl when he shook her hand. If she were a cartoon her heart be beating out of her chest.

"Where are the other boys ?" She asked, I shook my head.

"Their over here, I'll introduce you." Ashton said and lead us to the 3 other member of the band.

Luke was sitting on the table with a drink in his hand, Calum was arguing with their last member Michael.

"Mates, this is Lola and her friend Leighton. Their huge fans." Ashton said.

We both waved at the boys, kinda nervous and kinda wanna go throw up. Sure, they are normal boys but they also kinda not.

"Ashton you didn't say you'd be bringing such hot girls to the party." Michael said and Luke slapped him upside the head.

"Shut up Michael, these are ladies." Luke said. "Sorry about him, it's nice to meet you both."

"Yeah Michael can be out of control when he's drunk." Calum adds in. "It's nice to meet you."

Michael glares at both of the boys, I stifle in a giggle.

"You guys are mean." Michael say. " I'm gonna go dance, Would either of you ladies like to join ?"

I look at Leighton and nudge her over to him. She blushes but doesn't object and takes his hand and heads off to the dance floor.

Then I turn and see Ashton holding out his hand for me. Should I really be around a celebrity when the paps could get a picture of me and expose my whereabouts to Vega ? I shook the thought out of my head.

Screw it, I was going to have fun. My Parents would want that. I can't live in fear forever. So I take his hand and he leads me out to the dance floor.

"So, why'd you invite me out here tonight ?" I asked, he wrapped one arm around my waist as we danced.

"You looked like you could use a night out." Ashton said.

I guess I have been avoiding fun for a while since....that night. A flash of memory of my Mom popped up in my head.

"No please !" My Mom pleaded. "You don't want to do this !"

I had just gotten home and soon after, a Gun shot rattled the room.

I shooed the memory out of my head, I can't start crying right now.

"Hey." Ashton said. "You ok ?"

I nodded my head quickly and held back the tears prickling at the edge of my eyes.

"Yeah." I said, I grabbed a drink off of the tray of a caterer and downed the drink in one gulp.

We danced for a bit more than headed to the bar for drinks. I didn't care if I got drunk, I wanted to have a fun night without him ruining it for me.

"So, tell me about yourself." Ashton said sipping his drink. "I wanna know more about you."

The warning Detective Manning gave me came into mind.

"When people ask you about your past, just say you grew up in Santa Monica with your Grandma aka Gina and that you moved here a few months ago."

I hated that I had to lie and not tell people what really happened but with Vega hunting me. I couldn't risk it.

"Ashton trust me, my past will bore you into old age."
