(Y/n)'s Pov

We made our way back to headquarters and went to the garden. There we found master Oyakata waiting for us. We bowed before giving our report.

"We managed to clear out the forest of demons. We happened to run into one of the twelve demon moons, lower moon six. He injured Mitsuri, but he was defeated." I said, giving my side of the events.

"And who was it that defeated the demon?" Master Oyakata asked.

"(Y/n) was the one who defeated him, master." Mitsuri replied before I could say anything.

"What happened before he was defeated?" The Master asked.

"Well I didn't see him appear, and he grabbed me. I was thrown to the ground and I tore a muscle. (Y/n) tried to close the distance, but was caught by the demon's attack. He then used a form to close the distance and cut off his head.

"I am impressed, (Y/n). Even if it was lower moon six, you defeated one of the twelve demon moons by yourself. In any case, I have a new mission for you." The Master said.

"Of course, Master. What is my mission?" I asked.

"I want you to guard Mitsuri while she is recovering. The other pillars are out on missions, so I need someone at a pillar's level of strength to guard her. I would like you to stay at her house, in the event that someone were to attack." Master Oyakata said with a smile.

I blushed upon hearing that I would be living with Mitsuri, even if it was just while she recovered. I helped Mitsuri up, and we made a stop to get some essentials. The doctor said that with Mitsuri's body structure, it would take about a month for her to recover. After that she guided me to her home. When I got settled in I sent a message to Tomioka that I would be staying with Mitsuri while her leg recovered.

"What would you like for dinner, (Y/n)?" Mitsuri asked me.

"I'm fine with whatever you want, Mitsuri. I don't want to impose when I'm a guest in your house." I replied.

"It's fine, what would you like, maybe some miso soup? Maybe ramen?" She asked.

"I guess miso soup would be nice." I told her.

We ate and got to know each other better. We learned more about each other. It came time to go to bed.

Mitsuri's Pov

"Well, do you have a guest room?" (Y/n) asked.

"What are you saying? You're sleeping in my room. What if someone comes in through the window?" I say, looking away in embarrassment. I was just trying to be close to (Y/n), and I needed an excuse.

"Sure, do you have a futon for me to use?" He asked.

"No, I'm sorry. But it's fine, you can sleep in my bed with me." I told him. I had to lie, there were at least two futons in a closet in the other room.

"I don't know if I should..."

"Please? Please do it. For me?" I begged.

"Okay. I'll stay in your bed with you." He said. We got ready for bed, unable to look at each other. (Y/n) set his nichirin blade against the night stand, close enough that he could reach it in an emergency. We laid down, facing away from each other.

"(Y/n)? Thank you for agreeing to do this." I whispered.

"You're welcome. I'm happy to help." He replied.

I snuggled into my pillow, a smile on my face. Soon enough, I drifted into sleep.
