Part 2

(Y/n)'s Pov

It took me three days to make it to headquarters on foot. When I arrived, I was ushered into the garden. There I was greeted by Master Oyakata. I bowed as he smiled.

"(Y/n) (L/n), I am glad to see that you are well. I have a mission for you. There is a city near Tokyo with a forest nearby. There are very strong demons hiding there. I am sure that it would be too dangerous for normal demon slayers, but it is not enough to concern the Pillars with. I called you because I know that you have the skills to carry out this mission. It might be dangerous, but I have assigned someone to help you with this task." He explained to me. 

"Thank you for entrusting me with this mission, master. Who will I be working with on this assignment?" I asked. The master called for someone to come out to the garden. I looked over and saw a gorgeous woman about my age. She had long pink and green hair and a gentle demeanor. I realized that I was staring and quickly looked away.

"(Y/n), this is Mitsuri Kanroji. She created her own breath style, and is on her way to becoming a Pillar. The two of you are to investigate the forest and clear it out. If you encounter an upper demon moon, your first priority will be to escape. When you are finished with this mission, please come back here and give me a report on your mission." The master said.

"Yes sir!" We replied before starting our trek.

"Since we are going to be on the road for a while, why don't we get to know each other better? My name is (Y/n) (L/n). I use breath of water, and I am nineteen years old." I said with a smile.

"Nice to meet you. My name is Mitsuri Kanroji. I use breath of love, and I am nineteen, just like you." She replied with a smile of her own.

Mitsuri Pov

'This man is so handsome. My heart is pounding so hard. I hope he doesn't hear it. Okay calm down, you can't be in love this soon after meeting him. It takes time for love to grow. Just calm down. If in a few years you two get together, great. If not, that's fine too. Just focus on the mission for now.'

We stopped at an inn on the way, and cleaned ourselves up. We went downstairs to eat dinner. I was very hungry that night and started eating without thinking. I then remembered that (Y/n) was there, and I stopped mid-bite, feeling my face heat up. I was self-conscious about my appetite around other people I didn't know very well. 

"You must have been hungry. Do you need some more to eat? You can have my bowl of rice if you want." (Y/n) said, offering me the bowl.

"You don't mind my huge appetite?" I asked. He shook his head.

"No, we all need to eat different amounts. Besides, with all the training we have to do, it's natural to work up an appetite." (Y/n) replied, giving me a smile. I felt my heart flutter at his words. I shook my head to get out of my daze. I accepted his offer, taking the bowl from his hands. 

'(Y/n) doesn't mind my appetite! He is so sweet, thinking of me and not being uncomfortable with my appetite. If he were stronger than me, he'd be perfect.' I thought. We then went up to our room, and went to sleep.
