(Y/n) was training with his mentor, Giyu Tomioka, trying to master total concentration breathing constant. His lungs were aching with all the strain he was putting on them. He was trying to turn a temporary boost into a permanent state while fighting someone with way more experience and prowess than him.
(Y/n)'s Pov
"I can't go on. It's been two hours of constant training without so much as a glass of water." I said, collapsing from exhaustion. Tomioka just smiled at me.
"You're making good progress. I wouldn't be surprised if you surpassed me soon. You've completely mastered all of the forms taught in breath of water, and you're on your way to reaching a Pillar level of strength."
"Yeah, but you're holding back in our matches Tomioka, so why lie and say I'm going to surpass you?" I said. Tomioka just laughed when he heard me.
"If I held back against you, I wouldn't stand a chance. I have to go all out, and even still you sometimes beat me." He said. I just sat there, slack jawed. Tomioka goes all out against me, and I still keep up with him, and sometimes outpace him. Just then my crow landed on my shoulder.
"(Y/n) (L/n), please head to the demon slayer headquarters for personal instructions. You have a very important mission." It cawed. I got up, cleaned myself off, shaved, and packed up for my trip to headquarters.
"I have a mission to get to soon as well, so I'll be seeing you, (Y/n). Tomioka said as I was heading out. I smiled and waved as I set out on my trek to headquarters. On my way I started thinking about my life up to this point. I was born into a family of demon slayers, and I wanted to continue the family legacy. My father was a breath of water user, so he introduced me to his mentor, Sakonji Urokodaki. I trained since I was sixteen until I was seventeen, when I took the final selection.
After that, it took me almost two years to work my way up to the highest rank, where I was scouted by the water Pillar, Giyu Tomioka. I trained as his successor until this very day, and I was incredibly happy that I was able to do this. I enjoyed helping others, and doing this made me very happy. I noticed that it was getting dark, so I decided to find a place to stay in a nearby town. Once a had a room at an inn, I laid down and went to sleep, with a smile on my face.
