(Y/n)'s Pov

We were stood in the garden at headquarters. I had expected to just drop off Tanjiro and leave, but I was told to stay. Tanjiro started yelling out his sister's name and several other names I didn't recognize.

"Will you please tell us why you are travelling with a demon when you are a demon slayer?" Shinobu asked. Tanjiro tried to answer, but started hacking and coughing. Shinobu then gave him a drink of water before allowing him to speak again.

"That demon is my younger sister. While I was away, my family was attacked by a demon, and when I got home, they were all dead! My sister got turned into a demon, but she's never devoured anyone! She never has and never will! She'll never hurt humans no matter what!" Tanjiro explained.

"Spare us your absurd ravings. If she's family, no wonder you're defending her. I, for one, don't believe you." Obanai replied. Only that bastard could hear a sad tale like that without feeling a thing. The others gave a mix of responses. Then Mitsuri spoke up.

"Excuse me? I do have my doubts you know. I just can't imagine the Master being in the dark about this situation. Do you really think it's okay to deal with him without his permission?" She said meekly. Finally, someone was speaking reasonably.

"My sister can fight by my side! She can fight as a demon slayer to protect humans!" Tanjiro exclaimed.

"Well, well, I see you have some fun brewing here." Another voice said. I turned my head to see a man with scars holding a box.

"Is that the moron slayer who has a demon with him? What the hell are you are you trying to pull here?" He said with a sadistic smile on his face. A staff member from the butterfly estate asked him to put down the box, referring to him as Shinazugawa.

"Shinazugawa, please don't act out of line." Shinobu said, her usual smile gone.

"What did you say about that demon, kid? That she can fight as demon slayer to protect humans?" Shinazugawa asked, clearly provoking him. "You know what we call that? A total delusion, you moron!" Shinazugawa drew his blade and stabbed the box, causing Tanjiro to yell.

"Anyone who hurts my sister, pillar or not, I won't let you get away with it!" He yelled, charging at Shinazugawa.

"Stop! The Master will be here soon!" Tomioka said, causing Shinazugawa to stop for an instant. Tanjiro kept going, jumping out of the way of Shinazugawa's sword slash, and headbutting him. Shinazugawa landed onto the ground, causing Mitsuri to snicker.

"Pardon me." She said, hiding her face.

"Damn you." Shinazugawa groaned. 

"If you can't tell the difference between good demons and bad, you should just quit being a pillar!" Tanjiro shouted.

"You little... I'll destroy you!" Shinazugawa said, his sadistic look coming back.

"The Master... has arrived." The twins said.
