Sorry for the extremely late and very overdue update, but real life got in the way. Feel free to throw tomatoes and potatoes at me *ducks behind wall*.

I know it's not a field trip and has no plot whatsoever but it's fluffy so I'm posting it.

3rd POV

Tony was tinkering in the lab when Peter burst in. "OhmygodMrStarkguesswhatIjustfoundoutohmygodIcan'tbelieveI'mbeinginvitedtothisbutI'mdefinatelynotcomplainingand-" Peter babbled before Tony help up a hand.

"Whoa, whoa, kid, calm down, breathing is still necessary," Tony joked, shaking his head as he turned back to his work. "What's got you so worked up?"

Tony was genuinely curious about this, and if it had made Peter go from 'Tony' back to 'Mr Stark' then he was definitely excited. A few months after Aunt May had been diagnosed with cancer, Tony had finally gotten Peter on first name basis with him. Now, even after Tony had adopted him, Peter barely ever called him Mr Stark.

Peter grinned so widely it would have hurt on anyone else. "Ned invited me to go on the annual camping trip with his family! We used to do this with Aunt May before....well, you know. But Ned invited me again this year, and his parents said they're fine with it, and can I please go?"

Tony had put down his tools while Peter was explaining, and was now frowning. "It sounds good, but how far away is it?"

Peter gave a quick shrug. "It's not that far away. It's around forty miles outside the city or so, far enough that we can see the stars properly, but close enough that we can get back quickly if we want to."

Tony hesitated. Peter's safety was his top priority, ever since May died (and even a little before that). He needed Peter to be safe before he could do anything. "Okay. You can go, but be careful."

Peter beamed, throwing himself at Tony for a quick hug before pulling back and bouncing up and down. "Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou, thankyou! I promise I'll be careful."

Tony smiled at his overenthusiastic Spider-Son as Peter babbled about what they'd done on their previous camping trips and how he needed to buy tons and tons of marshmallows to roast. Peter was definitely looking forwards to this trip.

On Monday, when it was actually time to go, Peter was a lot more nervous. "Tony, are you sure you'll be fine when I'm gone? And you won't lock yourself in your lab?"

Tony shook his head as he handed Peter the five packets of marshmallows to put in his bag. "Pete, I'll be fine. Have you got everything?"

Peter nodded, sitting on his bag to try and get it to close. "Yep. Clothes, toothbrush and toothpaste, phone, marshmallows, a book, my homework, and-"

Tony interrupted. "Hold up, your homework? Why do you need that?"

Peter shrugged. "Ned's bringing his too. The teachers gave us our homework for the days we're missing, and we're supposed to have it done when we get back on Monday," Peter explained, finally managing to zip up his bag and jump off the couch.

Tony sighed. "Okay kid. Make sure-"

Tony was interrupted by Peter's phone dinging. He pulled it out and read over the message. "Ned says that they'll be here to pick me up in five minutes."
