Out of my Legaue

Nothing can slow down my heartbeat, as I sat in Xavier's bed. The anticipation in the atmosphere is thick, as I wait for him to come out of his en-suite. I keep changing my position on his bed, not knowing what to do with myself; I tuck my legs into my chest, then sit with my legs crossed. I spread myself out, than I lie on my side. Eventually the door opens and I go back to sitting with my legs crossed. Xavier enters the room in just some shorts, and I couldn't help myself from looking at his insanely sculpted body. He clears his throat, causing me to look away. He walks over to the bed, and gets in next to me. If my breathing wasn't even before, it was mostly definitely isn't even now.

"Are you going to come over here or not?" He seductively questions me, and a smile forms on my lips. I move in closer sitting besides him, my head falls onto his shoulder. He wraps his arm around my waist, his hand resting on my hip. This all feels normal - as if Xavier is suppose to be mine. Not one thing about this man makes me feel uncomfortable, or on edge; mostly because he does everything in his power to make sure I am as comfortable and at ease as possible.

"Now that you're here with me, I don't want to think about life without you in it." He whispers, a warm, fuzzy feeling enters my body. It is a feeling that is foreign to me, and I'm not sure how to react to it - to his words. A part of me is telling me that it is all lies, flowing from his very kissable lips, but the other part of me just wants to stop being so on guard all the time, and just believe him.

"Ziayn? Are you sleeping?" Xavier nudges me. I look up at into his eyes; those piercing blue eyes, but I can't form a sentence to reply to him.

"You don't believe me do you?" He asks, a sadness in his voice and eyes.

"A part of me believes you Xavier. It believes every word you say. It believes that you won't add to the damage I already I have to try and fix. I just can't deal with anymore heartbreak so if you're going to leave, do it now and spare me the future sorrow -"

"You talk too much at times Miss Xu." Is all he says, before connecting his lips to mine. Imaginary electric sparks flew across the room, bouncing from one wall to another. I'll never get tired of feeling his lips on my lips. I'll never get tired of Xavier Bright full stop. I mean - who would want to? He is the superhero, the prince, the knight in shining armour, who rescues poor damsels in distress, and shows them the better side of life.

"Does that relieve you of your worries and doubts, or shall I take it up a notch?" He smirks, a thick tone of seduction in his voice, that sends me into a frenzy.

"I think that's all the excitement we need for tonight. You tend to forget that you are my boss, who has a company to run, which means we should probably get some sleep." I suggest, laying my head back on his chest. He chuckles at my comment.

"And you tend to forget that very fact. I am the boss, which means I can do whatever I like with my company." I chuckle to myself at how effortlessly he said that sentence. It was true, but it was also a reminder of how out of my league he is. If he wanted to just take a day off, he could. If he wanted to buy a new car, he could. If he wanted to leave me for someone who shared a similar social status to him, he could.

"Goodnight Mr Bright." I deflect from the current conversation, placing my head on the pillow next to him. Just as I turn over, leaving a gap between the two of us, Xavier grabs me gently by the waist, and pulls me closer into his embrace. I lay my hand on top of his, my eyes slowly closing shut.

"Zi I'm going to be late!" Daphne's voice wakes me up out of my slumber. I turn to look at the clock. It is eight o'clock and Daphne is most definitely going to be late if I don't get a move on.

"Oh my gosh! This has never happened before! Shit, Daphne get dressed quickly, I'll go make some toast." I jump out of bed, a sleeping Xavier unbothered by the chaos. Daphne disappears into the bedroom and I run downstairs, heading straight into the kitchen. I search high and low for bread and jam, but in a kitchen as big as Xavier's it could be anywhere.

"Why are there so many flamin cupboards?" I ask in frustration. A deep chuckle startles me, as I jump and turn around. Xavier is in a suit, ready for work, whereas I am still in shorts and an oversized jumper.

"I'll take Daphne. You get ready for work. And just forget about the bread - I'll get her something on the way." Xavier says, kissing my forehead before turning on the heels of his shoes. I sigh in relief, making my way upstairs. Daphne races past me, giving me a quick hug goodbye, before leaving with Xavier. The door closes, and I am left in this big stupid house all by myself.

Well not completely all by myself. Both Maisy and Dash sit by the door, tails wagging and tongues out as the three of us look at each other, waiting for something to happen.

"Sorry lads, got to get to work," I sigh, before continuing my way upstairs. I rummage through a spare bag of clothes I left here a few weeks ago, and try to piece together a decent enough outfit for work. I quickly brush my teeth and apply some light make up, I grab everything I need and rush out of the house.

"She just gets to waltz into work late and not have to worry about losing her job because of it. It's clear to see she's screwing Xavier." The evil witch herself 'whispers' to her friends as I walk past them all sat in the cafe in the entrance of Lighthouse Industries. I pretend not to hear her childish behaviour and lies, signing in and making my way up to my office. However, this wave of confidence rushes throughout my body, boiling up my blood, causing me to turn on my heels and walk over to the group of school girls.

"While you're all sat here obsessing over me and my life, I'm about to actually go and do my job. Maybe you guys should do the same and worry about shit that genuinely concerns you." I smile sarcastically at them all, narrowing my eyes at Scarlett, before flipping my hair over my shoulder and strutting away. I take the lift up to my office and get straight to work. I know why I am here and it's not to entertain Scarlett's lies.

"So this is Miss Xu's office then?" A quite familiar voice enters my office. I turn around to see Jake Grant, standing in the entrance of the door.

"Mr Grant, it's lovely seeing you again," I politely greet him, holding out my hand for him to shake. He chuckles at my professional mannerisms, walking into my office, making himself at home. "What can I do for you?"

"Real answer or fake answer?" He smirks, as I take a seat in front of him. My palms are becoming extremely sweaty, and the temperature of the room seems to be increasing. I shouldn't of worn a turtleneck today.

"Fake." I bluntly say, leaning my elbows on my desk.

"I need someone to give me a tour around the building, just so I'm familiar with everything when I start at the end of the month." He says. I tilt my head to the side, trying to read this man. What's his agenda? Why has he come to disturb my morning? Does Xavier know he's here in my office?

"And the real answer?" I question him, not sure I'm ready for his response.

"I wanted to see your beautiful face again and ask you out on a date."
