"Zi, I can't find my shoes! Why do I have to wear heels for crying out loud?" Daphne bursts into our room in a frantic state. I am sitting on the floor, doing my make up, getting myself ready for Daphne's prom. The big day has finally arrived, and the one person who is suppose to be estatic for the day, is the person who would rather break her leg than go to her prom. I skid the shoe box over to her feet, and she sighs in defeat.
"I thought I hid them." She mumbles to herself as, she sits on the bed, taking off her slippers to put on the heels. I chuckle at my sister's failed attempt to dispose of her heels, as I finish my make up. Standing to my feet, I help zip Daphne into her dress that Xavier got custom made just for her. She turns around to face me and I try my hardest not to ruin my freshly done make up. Daphne is all grown up. She is a young adult, ready to take on whatever the world throws at her. I smooth out my own dress, taking Daphne's hand, exiting out the room and heading downstairs. Xavier is stood at the bottom, camera in hand as he waits for the two of us.
"How do I look?" Daphne calls down to Xavier, grabbing his attention. Xavier looks up, a smile instantly appears on his face. We reach the bottom of the stairs, and Dapne embraces Xavier into a hug of gratitude.
"You look absolutely stunning, as usual." He compliments her, causing her to smile a little wider than before. She hugs him one last time before the photo shoot begins. The shutter of the camera clicks more than ten times before Daphne is pleased with the quality of the pictures. The door knocks and I open it to see Dan, dressed in a black suit and lavander coloured tie to make Daphne's dress. I welcome him in, and Daphne rushes into his arms trying not to snap her anckles in her heels. As Xavier photographs the two of them, I quickly rush upstairs to retrieve Daphne's much needed gift. Joining the group again, I hand Daphne another shoebox.
"What's this Zi?" She asks, a curious look appears on her face as she begins to open the box. She gasps in relief, taking out the crisp, clean pair of black converse. "This is why I love you."
"Now you and Dan can also match shoes," I smile at them both. Daphne looks down to see the same converse also on his feet. I turn her towards the living room. "Hurry up slow coach, you've got a prom to get to!"

"Have fun guys!"
"Enjoy yourselves"
"Be responsible!"
That last comment did make Daph cover her face in embarrassment. Xavier and I watch both Daphne and Dan walk down the red carpet the school has rolled out for all the year thirteens that are attending their prom this evening. From limousines to Bentleys - even a fire truck! These teens are determined to leave school with a bang, and they sure as heck did. The dresses, tuxedos, shoes, hair; it is immaculate from start to finish. Walking back to the car, Xavier captures my hand and intertwines our fingers, causing my cheeks to turn a bright pink, and my hands to get clamy. Even though it has been a few weeks being Xavier's girlfriend, he still makes me nervous, like we're school kids in a relationship and not the adults we're suppose to be. Panic can sometimes get the better of me, and that is when the overthinking comes into play. I wish I could losen up, and not be so self consious and insecure around him.
"We are going on a date." Xavier breaks the silence, as we get into his car. I smirk at his dominant demeanor. This side of him brings out the lustful, sinful side of me, and as much as I try to fight it off, it doesn't stop me from almost giving in.
"Oh really? How do you know I'm free to go on a date with you tonight?" I tease him. He looks me dead in the eyes, a seductive smirk plastered on his face. That damn smirk.
"I am confident that you are free tonight Miss Xu. And even if you were not free, you would still be going out with me tonight." He states. It may just be me, but I am pretty sure he growled while speaking then. Oh gosh I need help.
"Is it me, or has it gotten really hot in here all of a sudden?" I fan myself, a huge smile on my face, as Xavier starts the engine.
When we pull into a car park for a fun fair that is being held in the heart of the city, I am taking by surprise. If you look at Xavier Bright, going to a fun fair for a date doesn't fit his persona - but I didn't care because I adore fun fairs with a passion. Xavier parks the car, getting out first so that he could open the car door for me like usual. And they say chivallry is dead.
"This may be our best date yet Mr Bright." I say to him, and a smile appears on his face; bright like the sun. He holds out his hand and I gladly take it, as we enter the grounds. Everyone and their uncle is here tonight: families, other couples, friendship groups - I'm sure the whole of Jewlbury has attended this event. After buying our tokens for the multiple rides and games stalls that surround our every move, we choose to go on every single one. Rollercoasters, bumper cars, the carousel; it is one after the other, that Friday feel good feeling radiating off of Xavier and I. I don't want this date to end. I wish this date never ends. Unfortunately, the fair begins to close down its stalls, and turn off all the rides for the night. It's midnight when we reach back to Xavier's car, but I have never felt so alive and awake at this time of day before. Mixing Xavier and fun activities together, has a sugar rush effect on me, and I am in love with the feeling.
"I think this is the first time I've ever seen you in your true form Ziayn." Xavier says, as he drives out of the car park. I turn to him, our eyes meeting for a short moment, before he turns his attention back onto the road. This is the true Ziayn Xu - the Ziayn before life took a big dump on her, and left her to fend for herself in this dark cruel world. This is the Ziayn Xu before her father died, before her mother's addiction worsened. She is free, and unapologetic.
"I've forgotten what it feels like to be this liberating, with nothing holding me back. I know it sounds insanely crazy, but that's the only way I can describe it." I say, trying to find the right words to explain this electrifying sensation. Xavier, takes my hand as a sign to let me know I don't sound insanely crazy one bit. "I wish she could see me like this."
"I think she would be terrified at the sight." He smirks, and I smile at his comment. She would probably shit herself. I'm sure my mother would pinch herself more than once if she saw me at this very moment. This isn't the broken little girl she abandoned all those years ago. The only thing that stops the car from being silent is the radio, as I look out the window and Xavier focuses on driving.
"I love you Xavier." I whisper, loud enough for him to hear. We stop a traffic light, and he leans over, our lips meeting. The kiss lasted longer than expected, as the car behind us, beeps their horn to get our attention. Just about managing to break away from each other, Xavier jumps back into his seat and drives off, signalling an apology to the driver.
"I love you more Ziayn." He replies, his tone of voice smooth like velvet, his eyes holding a mixture of love and total bliss.
