5 months later - D A P H N E
"Have you called Ziayn?" Dan pulls me out of my thoughts. I'm glad he does - I can't cope with how clogged up it is getting in there. Dan has come for his weekly visit to Bath as part of our university agreement. However, the visits haven't been as fun and freeing as they normally are. I shake my head to his question, and he sighs heavily - a hint of frustration coming through. I hate when Dan is like this. I hate that lately the reason why he is like this is because of me. I'm too scared to talk to my sister right now and I have never been scared to talk to the woman who raised me, so clearly this is very bad.
"Don't sigh at me like that Dan. Don't make it seem like this whole thing is my fault because it's not all my fault!" I snap at my him, turning my back on him. I feel the tears well up in my eyes, but I don't let them fall. The last thing I want to do is cry in front of him right now.
"I'm sorry Daph. I know this is hard on you, but it is also hard for me too. Your sister will kill me when she finds out and so will Xavier!" Dan says, walking over to where I sat. I slightly smile at how accurate he is - both of my guardians will murder him just as bad as they will murder me. I lean into Dan; he instantly pulls me into his embrace, as he rock back and forth in silence. I do love him - I love Dan a heck of a lot - but this mishap may just ruin the incredible friendship we have maintained since sixth form. I may have just ruined his future thanks to this. I break up the much needed hug, as I reach for my phone. Dan goes back to sitting on my bed, as I scroll through my contacts to call Ziayn. My thumb hovers over her number, before I find the courage to press it. She doesn't pick up until the third ring.
"Hey Daph, how are things?" Ziayn cheerfully greets me, and I get a wave of naseaua.
"Things could be better if I am honest. There is something I need to tell you Zi." My voice trembles, as I hear her excuse herself from Xavier's presence. A door closes before she says "What's wrong Daph?"
"Okay. Ermm. W-well - you see. Oh gosh. Urmm-"
"Daph, take a deep breath and breathe. Take your time love and talk to me." Ziayn helps calm me down, as I follow her instructions before trying again.
"Okay. You are going to hate me so much after I tell you this, and I understand if you never want to speak to me or see my face ever again! Oh Zi - I am five months pregnant!" The words spew out my mouth like vomit, as I don't hear anything from my sister.
"Zi? Ziayn? Say something - anything!" I plead, allowing the tears to spill from my eyes.
"Oh no Daphne. Oh no."

"Daph don't cry. Please don't cry love. Yeah - come tonight if you can. Tell him to come as well. No I am not going to kill him Daph! I love you sis and I'll see you both later today. Okay, bye." I place my phone down on my desk. I can feel my heart bursting as everything around me blurs out. The sounds of people walking up and down the corridors, my vision isn't as clear as it was before Daphne called. My sister is having a baby. She is pregnant. She is with child. When did I take my eyes off her for this to happen? Five months of me not knowing; I thought we could tell each other everything, with no judgement. There is a knock at the door, and both my sweet dream and dreaded nightmare walked into my office.
"Ziayn, Jake is wanting to talk over the finances with you in regards to materials and furniture." Xavier says rejoining me after I excused myself, and I slightly smile at Jake. Xavier takes a seat in the far corner, observing our every interaction. Jake takes a seat opposite me at my desk, as we begin going over budgets and how much marble flooring would cost. Not even him slyly trying to flirt with me in front of my boyfriend is taking my mind off Daphne, and the baby growing inside of her. Xavier picks up on my lack of interest and distant behaviour, as he walks over to my desk.
