Crowne Plaza Hotel Downtown
11:33pm Seattle, WA"We're not going to get caught, Lydia."
I doubt it, I thought for the tenth time as we headed for the pool at our hotel. It was past closing time, so no guests allowed. Our dinner date was crashed by one of my old high school "frenemies". She was one of the constant sources of me being bullied. I was a foster student at the time and didn't handle it very well.
I was just relieved when I finally graduated. I was surprised at dinner, however. I didn't feel the usual fear or self-loathing that I used to around her. Nope. What I felt tonight was pure anger. And jealousy. She was one of those perfect cheerleader types. Blonde hair, perfect body, most likely to get whatever she wants. Tonight, she wanted Sean. Honestly, I couldn't blame her. He was tall, handsome, and those baby blues were easy to get lost in.
To my surprise, he actually looked repulsed by her. I believed him when he told me how he felt about me. I've gotten to know him well enough that I didn't doubt it. I still had some self-esteem issues. Hence, why I'm nervous about this pool idea.
He wanted to make the dinner disaster up to me and do something with just us. Something fun and exciting. To him, that entailed sneaking to a closed hotel pool late at night. I loved swimming, but Sean has never seen...me. The most he's seen of my body was the few occasions I wore a dress. I usually wore jeans and a t-shirt. I was a big fan of layers. Right now I was wearing a black bikini underneath the towel I had wrapped around me.
"Come on, Lydia," he coaxed me as he held the gate leading to the pool open for me.
"Fine. But if we get caught, I'm pointing my finger at you," I replied with an arched eyebrow.
"Deal."
My heart started doing the normal flippity-flop it did when I was nervous. More like petrified, I thought.
I watched as he put his towel on one of the lounge chairs. With him only wearing swim trunks, my eyes were locked on his fit body as he walked to the pool. When he got to his knees and leaned forward to test the water, my eyes shot to the tattoo he got on his back.
"Lydia?" He called. By his tone and the "caught ya" smirk he had on his face, he knew I was ogling him.
"Yes, sorry."
He rose to his feet and walked up to me. The way he was looking at me made my body shiver with excitement. He kissed me and any sense of reason left my mind.
"Join me for a late night swim, beautiful."
He turned back to the pool and dove into the water. Thankfully, I got the all clear it was okay to go swimming after my injury. Sean broke through the water and wiped his face before giving me a knowing smile.
"Whenever you're ready."
Even though I was scared about this...very intimate interaction, deep down, it was something I really, really, wanted to do. I took off my towel and put it on the lounge chair next to his. I walked to the edge of the pool and felt his hot gaze go over my body. When he got to that butterfly tattoo, he paused and his expression turned hungry.
I slowly dipped myself in the pool and couldn't hold back my sigh of bliss.
"Told you it felt good," he said with a deep chuckle.
He started a splash fight that I really enjoyed. I couldn't remember a time I laughed and played with someone else. We ended up in the shallow end of the pool and he was leaning against the edge. I was standing across from him on the other end.
