Tw: physical bullying, offensive gay slurs
There's a summary at the bottom for the
People who aren't comfortable with this stuff.Romans POV:
As me and Virgil walked to my next class, we practiced going over the lines for the audition skit. Everyone who auditioned had to sing a song from the part they were going for, and a line of dialog. The people trying out for the less important roles had to sing the song, "this is me," and the people who weren't auditioning for a singing role just had to pick a line of dialog from the musical. I'm obviously auditioning to be the greatest showman, but Virgil wants a less known part, so he's trying out for The tall man, which is ironic cause he so small. All in all, I'm pretty exited we're doing this together.I think I'm going to officially ask him out today. We've been pretty flirty behind closed doors, but I want to actually take him out. Maybe we could go to a movie or something... eh I'll figure it out when he says yes.
We're about halfway to class when I finally say something other than what P.T. Barnum has to say. "So are you exited? Auditions are next week!" He shrugs. "I don't really know. I only signed up cause Patton's been asking me donde the 8th grade. I'm don't really think I'm up for the whole being in front of people thing." At this point the bell had already rang. I guess we had just accepted the fact that we were gonna be late now. "Well I think you're going to do great!" He giggles. He's so cute when he giggles.
"So I was thinking, maybe after we run lines tonight we could-" I was cut off when someone pushed Virgil to the ground. He looked up slightly. I could tell he felt the blood rushing out of his nose. "What the fu-" he looked at me, then at the person who punched him. I looked over too, but before I could see they pushed me to the wall. "What was that for!" I screamed. He lashed back. "Shut up you faggots!" I looked up to see Leo. He used to be my friend until he started saying offensive gay slurs to the people on the football team. We haven't spoken since we were softmoors.
"Maybe this'll teach you to go around flirting with gay emo boys Roman!" He punched me
In the face then walked away. I slid down the wall, holding my hand by my nose as to not get blood on my favorite shirt. I looked over at Virgil who was laying there in shock. His foundation was starting to rub off and his eye was bruised."Hey, you okay?" I asked him. Without
Looking at me, he answered "Yea, I'm fine." He
Got up and started heading to his next class. I caught up with him before he could get there though. "Are you sure you're-" I tried to place a hand on his shoulder but he slapped it away and didn't let me
Finish. "I said I'm fine Roman!"And with that he ran off.
I wonder if he's mad at me now.
I hope he's okay... .
G u y s I m b a c k!
Sorry I haven't posted in months things have just been really hard on me lately and I'm really sorry.
Here's a summary-
Virgil and Roman were going over lines in the empty hallway when a boy named Leo came and beat them up, yelling gay slurs at Roman and name calling Virgil. Virgil seemed off after the incident.
Okie sorry the chapter is so short but I needed a few other chapters before the good stuff starts.
By the way, thank you all for so much support on this book. I didn't think so many people would be reading it but I already have 780 views!!!
