Chapter 8: Reunited

Virgils POV:

       Ever since the incident with Leo me and Roman have kinda been ignoring each other. At this point I don't think our relationship is really gonna go anywhere. Damn, I really should've said
Something to him after that whole thing, but this were just so awkward because, as well as call us offensive gay slurs, Leo also called us out on things we weren't even ready to admit yet.

We were GAY for each other.

Like-

HARD.

So I guess I can see why things could be awkward.

       I guess we subconsciously decided not to tell the group. I know for a fact that Mel would've attempted to rip Leo's skull out, so that alone is enough to not let anyone know. Darla would cry and Patton would try to stop Mel and suggest that we "try and talk it out with him" like it's so easy. Kayla would probably pretend like nothing's happening until it happened again, in which case she would tell the principle.

       I don't need the chaos right now. I have enough to worry about.

       Regardless of if we're on speaking terms or not though, Amara is still good friends with him, and ever since the group started hanging around Roman, they've got attached to him. So I still see him wherever the rest of my friends go.

       I was headed to lunch, the one period that we all have together. I was thinking about the whole Leo incident and how much I wanted it to be forgotten, when I heard a voice that sounded all too familiar.

       "I thought that if I returned I would have a warmer welcome than my best friends back turned to me..."

       I turned around to see my old best friend Logan! I was so surprised to see him because he had moved to New York years ago. I looked up at him, given that he had grown SEVERAL feet since we last saw each other. I was so in shock I couldn't say anything-

       "Guess not" he said again. At that point I just jumped up and hugged him. It had been so long! I wonder why he was back...

       Just then I saw Patton and Amara coming from down the hall, looking VERY confused. I don't blame them. They've never met Logan before, let alone see me hug him. To them he's just a random stranger that I'm hugging. And I don't hug.

       "Hi Virge!!" He said in his usual cheery manor. "Who's this?" Just then Mel Dari and Roman showed up. They all looked confused. "My name is Logan. Me and Virgil were friends before I had moved to New York when I was younger. Pleased you meet you." Gave a small smile but it looked forced.

       "You guys go to lunch imma catch up with Logan!" They all headed in the direction of the cafeteria and me and Logan walked the other way, but Logan still had his eyes fixed on the group. "So how have things been in New Yo-" he cut me off, "Who was that boy? Th-the one with the glasses?" I was confused for a second, but I soon realized why he asked. "Oh, That's Patton! After you left he became my best friend. He's really sweet and is addicted to Dad jokes." I giggled. I wanted to keep the conversation going, as well as embarrass Logan, so I continue, "Why?" He replied "oh no reason..." I play gasped "Do you have a crush?? Don't rush into things you just got back!" "Nonsense. In case you don't recall, I don't feel emotion." We both smirked. And headed the long way to the lunch room.

       Once we got to the lunch room everyone was there, including Kayla, who I didn't see before hand. Me and Logan walked over to the table. Mayor had her back turned to the group because she was talking with Dari. Mel was picking out of Amarah lunch box and Amara was talking with Patton, Roman, and Mel.

Once we sat down, it took about 3 seconds before dark screamed "LOGAN!" Everyone was so exited to be talking to my old friend. They were all wide eyes With awe, but Kayla seemed confused, and scared. Angry almost...

The rest of the group showered him with questions. "What was New York like?" "I LOVE your tie!!!" "Where are you from?" "Why did you come back here?"

Logan kept eying Kayla. Suddenly, holding back tears, she stood up and ran out of the lunch room. Logan, hesitantly, ran after her.

What was that about...?

I know it's been a while since I've posted, but imma try to post more because of the quarantine. There's nothing else to do!

Let me know what you guys have been doing because I'm running out of ideas.
