"Asher South open this door right now!" Claire shouted banging on her brothers bedroom door. Her little brother had failed to show up two school two days in a row and she knew why. Archie had come up to her in the halls and told her that Asher was only getting worse. "I have a plan to get Rebekah back." Claire said through the door.
"You better not be lying to me." Asher growled. Claire could hear movement from the other side of the door.
"I'm not... This has gone on for long enough. I have an idea and I need your help." Asher opens the door. Claire smiled at him sympathetically. His skin is paler than snow, there's dark circles around his eyes and his eyes are dull. "You up for this?"
"Hell yeah" He nods following her out of the house and into the car. "Where're your mates?" He asked her.
"Klaus is working on some surprise for me. Henrik is planning out our date tonight. I left Elijah home but I can sense him, he's following us. He knows what I'm planning and he's not particularly happy but at the same time he's not planning on stopping me."
"Mind telling me this plan?" Asher asked glancing at her.
"We're going to negotiate." Claire told him.
"Negotiate?" Asher deadpans. Claire nods.
"Stefan has been avoiding me but Damon is still out in the open. We're going to talk to him and get him to give us Rebekah back."
"What about Finn and Kol?" Asher asked. Claire sighs gripping the steering wheel.
"When they had Elijah, it was easier because I knew where he was. I just needed to figure out how to get to him. But with Rebekah, Kol and Finn, I have absolutely no idea where any of them are. Stefan does and I'm hoping Damon does as well. If Damon doesn't then we'll get him to find out. I doubt I'll be able to get all three of them. I can handle the distance from Kol and Finn because our bond isn't nearly as strong as you and Rebekah."
"Thank you" Asher mutters giving her a half smile. Claire gives him a small nod.
Within minutes they were pulling up to the Salvatore house. Asher practically darts out of the car. Claire quickly goes to follow him. She slows to a stop and turns around. Within the tree line she can see Elijah. Claire gives him a small smile which he returns with a concerned look.
"Trust me." She whispers. His shoulders relax, his eyes soften.
"Be careful" He mouths to her. She slowly nods and he disappears within the trees but Claire knows he's still watching. She looks back to the house and sees Asher waiting for her. She walks up to the door and knocks.
"Shortcake?" Damon asked and Claire barges inside, Asher right behind him.
"Nice house" She said looking around. "Little dull... Old... Cozy" She shrugs turning to him.
