As the haze wore off after a few days, Jane was able to sit up. When she finally did there was something unexpected.
Patchwork decided to move without her go ahead.
Granted, she would have done the same but that was her biggest issue out of the broken ribs and shattered horn. Everything ached from the transfer from a suffocating bed to a small couch and a blanket. It was still too soft so she simple scooted the blanked off of her before toggling up. Jane slid off the wrap around her head that covered her eyes, even though the vibrant lights hurt and blinking did as well, she could see.
A small little coffee table sat on the ground filled with papers and reports. Scanning through them it appeared to be random companies if you didn't notice the connection. Every single one had been bought up to create a monopoly. Picking up a few before spreading them out on the floor in columns ordered by date of being bought and how well they were doing.
Then, there was a loud smack above her. Jerking her head upwards, Jane could feel the rush of blood flow through her. She raced outside to see Patchwork smashed against the roof and Herring dangled as she got caught on branches. However, Otto stood on floating scrap metal and smirked. Her smile turned into a gasp.
Jane lowered herself into a running position as deep blue lines radiated from her feet. Launching into a sprint she leaped quickly from one slivers of metal to another. Jane leaped to almost touch Otto before a rich cyan beam blasted from one hand.
Otto skidded to a stop on the ground. "Always protect the face, how did that work out?"
"Hm, well..." Jane playfully tapped a pointer finger on her cheek like she was thinking. "I see you didn't check your area or you would have avoided that. It was a basic maneuver too."
Metal flung towards Otto from behind Jane. Bending and twisting like a contortionist. It was graceful like a ballerina with the practice of one as well. Her passion was like a unstoppable flame swallowing everything in its path. A smaller beam shot a branch that Herring was hanging from to break it and another hit near Patchwork to startle him.
Jane glared at Otto before turning back inside. Her curiosity consumed every thought of how things would play out in terms of relationships. Would they find the traitor within the ranks of heroes? Who would lead them? Would it be a sheep or a wolf? Who would win out of all of this? Would they handle situations with caution or precision? Who would kill the king upon his throne?

She had woken up for good. However, all that meant was more training. Some of her manures were undoubtedly recorded and analyzed especially if Puppeteer had bolted.
Puppeteer could take over thing with a brain, all she needed was to coil her strings of violet energy and have you give into rage. She was called "Cassidy" or "Cass" for short while on missions since Puppeteer didn't work. Phantom, years ago, amputated her arms as an experiment to see how long she had a hold on plant matter. To their surprise, she turned them into artificial limbs as well. Cassidy was sent out on more and more missions until she didn't return. Turned out, Nick had her among his ranks. However, it didn't change much. Just another variable while fighting, long as he didn't give her a mark as well.
She needs to start from scratch, everything from her core move down to her dodging. If it was true that Cass was working with Nick, it would be better to just go solo. That would have happened anyway. Her goal was to establish small units that could handle a good portion of the coming chaos. Jane worked with the tennis ball machine to work on dodging for most of the day after waking up. That's when she felt the hairs on her neck stiffen.
"My, how much trouble you've caused." Nick purred softly on her neck as Jane continued to direct her focus on the yellow spheres. "Whenever it gets rough the sheep always runs away."
She turned quickly before manifesting a sword the color of lapis to point at his chest before hissing. "I'm not running from my problems."
"Quick as trigger." He walked around the work out spot before circling back to face her. "Did you really do as I asked Black Sheep?
Jane walked passed him and clipped his shoulder. "I did."
"I didn't find a body, but something much more interesting."
Jane hesitated.
"You couldn't do it, could you?" The air got colder. "Instead you turned him to a statue by putting his astral projection into something else." His voice was sharp like a dagger as it cut through her lie.
"He was like me Nick, he could have discovered something that I should be aware of." She felt his hand on her shoulder.
"No one has more knowledge than you Jane. Why do you think I don't have him?" His hand lifted her chin up. "Because he was already a failure to begin with. With the beauty of your horns, you are less suspected to destabilization." Nick swiftly brushed through Jane's hair.
Their faces gravitated towards one another. All of a sudden Nick gasped as he clawed at his neck covered in a blue aura before crumbling to the ground. "Consider this your last warning." Jane hissed as her eyes glowed with a vibrant lapis color. "Stay the fuck away from me, my team, and those rejects." She released him and instantly he gasped for oxygen and started coughing. Jane passed him to grab her silver case next to the door.
