The pair climbed out of their hiding spot.

"What's your name?" Jane whispered while grabbing Mathew's gloved hand and pulling him up.

"Misdeluder." He tightened the grip on his new staff.

Jane mumbled under her mask. "I will take you out of play if it's too much alright rookie?"

"You ask for my name and then you just call me rookie." Jane felt something shift inside of him, it went away quickly like a gust of wind.

"Keep your trap shut Misdeluder, focus your energy on this moment instead of blowing steam." She growled while putting their backs together. "Follow my lead and avoid getting hit." Jane felt the sparks trying to ignite something within Mathew, something dangerous.

Police car after police car blockaded the two into a sectioned part next to the water. The water was frozen from all the cold nights and the ground still had puffy white snow. The forms of water made it calm before the storm. The fire that burned within Jane kept growing stronger and stronger as the officers started growing in numbers.

Without warning she stepped and turned quicker than than a crocodile. Mae, Iwix, Scott, and even Quint appeared from the mass of police cars. She held her blue scythe almost defensively towards them.

"Stop this nonsense running of yours." Mae called as her aura appeared.

Gemixe must have access to the police. Jane didn't budge, staying still as a rock. The scythe's blade disappeared and the staff split into two. It was a pair of kamas chained together as though they we're two halves of one. She kept close to Mathew not as insurance but through faith. Her breath slowed and so did her heartbeat. Calmness wash over her in a single wave.

She wasn't frail anymore, underneath the suit was muscle gained from training. The body is the river for energy to flow, a weak one will make you an easy target. Nick taught her the practice of listening and patience. Lessons that proved their worth.

Jane felt the air bend around a hammer coming at her with a person attached to the other end. She bend around the it's attack as she open her eyes to see an enraged Mae. Jane pushed her away and separated her position from Mathew. Her movement was like a top, continues and constant. Each one shifted a blow. She managed to get behind her target and move with Mae instead of reacting. A swift kick to the leg made Mae fall hard in the ice.

As Jane looked up Quint, Scott, and Iwix were less than a foot from her. A green wall came to ram into her. Her hands shot out and with ease sliced through the fake wall. Metal monsters formed from the police cars, green barriers didn't stop charging at her, and fire licked her feet as Mae got back up.

Something red appeared from the sky and skewered Jane's shoulder just as she split on of the barriers. A painful howl came from her as red lightning covered her. The air smelled of burnt flesh filled the air. Jane's back had black markings on it that slowly spread. A glowing red chain ran through her. The red energy suddenly continued as Jane's hands started to glow blue. There was only a slight wince from Jane as she grabbed Mathew.
She tumbled out far away from the circle with Mathew in tow. Her arm was covered in a swirling cyan and sapphire mixture. There were chunks of the red substance still inside the wound as well. Jane's eyes were a dull, lifeless grey. Bits of the chain ran through her even after severing most of it. However, Jane still stood up strong under a bridge with Mathew.

"I don't want you to get hurt." Jane muttered. "Run, run far from here but not out of the state."

"I joined you in this and sure as hell am I going to finish it." Mathew growled. "What are you going to do with that arm of yours? I can help."

Jane looked up at the sky as snow fell on her face. "If you were hurt or died because of me, I would never forgive myself. Do yourself a favor and forget about me." She looked at him. "Live." The red electricity appeared around her just before vanishing into a blur of blue.

Jane appeared in a matter of seconds but not with Mathew. Her semblance of control appeared as did the impression of focus. She didn't have a passionate glow within her eyes but rather a inhospitable smoke color.

Her hand was coated in a black substance. "Not getting rid of me with such a weak attack like that." But she wasn't talking to anyone on the ground with her.

Iwix made a metal beast that swiftly lunged at her. As it pried open its jaw to devour Jane something slammed into its jaw. Forcing it to stumble back, Jane had her own monster. It's wispy black form resembled that of a larger, more hunched, wolf.

Then some light was brought into its form slowly as Jane plucked out the glowing red chains. Under the blue scarf she still had on was black markings. As her monster disappeared as the life appeared back into her eyes.
