you can consider this a very late birthday
oneshot for maashi since i didn't have ideas for him on his actual birthday lmao

soulmate au: there's a clock on your wrist counting down to when you and your soulmate will first meet

shima was a nervous wreck.

today was his birthday live performance with sakata, but that wasn't the reason he was nervous.

the clock on his wrist only has the numbers '03:04:10'.

and their concert would go on for three hours.

which means after that, he's gonna be meeting his soulmate.

the thought of meeting his soulmate soon brought shima curiousity. how would she sound like, will her voice be good? what will her personality be like? will she be arrogant, nice, shy, loud. would he grow to love her? hopefully. will she turn out to be pretty? or will she turn out to be not his type?

and..

would it be even a 'she'?

but aside from all those curious questions, shima felt sad about meeting his soulmate.

because he fell in love with senra, his groupmate, his best friend, and most importantly, a person who has his own soulmate.

and he was pretty sure it wasn't going to be him.

urata and sakata met their own soulmates, which was each other. the two already loved each other, so it made them extremely happy to know they're soulmates.

oh how shima wanted senra and him to be like them. but it was impossible, he thought.

he could wish on millions of shooting stars and his wish wouldn't be granted, because what cannot be, cannot be.

soon enough, it was time for their live performance.

shima and sakata sang a few songs, before it was time for shima's solo song and a few minutes of him talking on stage.

he was going to have a question and answer corner, and the staff prepared some questions from fans for him to answer.

urata and senra we're at the audience too, at the very front of course, with seats reserved for the two of them.

urata was very out of character tonight, as he kept cheering for shima and sakata, especially sakata. he keeps yelling 'i love you!'s.

while senra, cheered too but kept quiet most of the time. he's been feeling uneasy since earlier, the fact that he was going to meet his soulmate too like urata and sakata after this concert, gave him a wave of uneasiness and pain.

he didn't want soulmates, he didn't want anyone, he just wants shima.

shima sang his original song 'aishite mo ii kai?' for his solo song, then it was time for his question and answer corner.

"alright! it's now time for my QandA corner! i hope you guys sent me some great questions!" shima said and the fans cheered.

the staff brought out the questions, and shima picked the first one.

"'did you already meet your soulmate?' is the question. huh, i didn't meet them yet but after this concert, i will. as what my clock says." shima answered.

the audience erupted in cheers, 'goodluck!'s and 'i wish you happiness!'s were heard.

and senra grew more nervous.

'it's.. not possible right? shima couldn't be my soulmate. absolutely not. maybe some fan will visit him backstage and that would be his soulmate, yes yes that's definitely it. to be sure, i shouldn't visit shima immediately after this, i need to wait for a few minutes.' senra thought, and nervously continued watching the concert.

questions like 'are you doing fine, shima-san?', 'do you have any illnesses as of now?' and 'how can you be so hot shima-san? i love you.' were answered with some chuckles from both shima and the audience.

but the last question has turned everyone serious.

'are you currently in love with someone?'

shima blushed furiously, the audience grew curious- as well as senra.

urata and sakata both know that shima likes senra, but they weren't going to spill anything since the two need to confess themselves.

"u-uhm well.. i kinda am? but i know they don't like me at all. besides, i'm sure we aren't soulmates." shima answered, which made the audience erupt some sad 'aww's.

senra was definitely sad too, he now knows shima likes someone, and he's pretty sure it's gonna be a fellow utaite or maybe a fan.

but definitely not him. anyone, but definitely not him, senra thought.

the QandA corner shortly ended with that question, and it was time for sakata's solo corner.

after sakata's solo corner, a short break occurred and the concert resumed and ended.

'00:09:56' shima's wrist clock told as he walked to his dressing room.

senra decided to visit sakata first, not even taking a look at his own wrist clock, 'i know i'll meet them no matter the case later.' he said. so he decided to chill with urasaka for a few minutes.

shima was waiting patiently for his soulmate at his dressing room.

'00:00:08' the clock told.

shima was lost in thoughts so he didn't hear senra knock on the door.

he went to open it.

'00:00:00' their clocks told.

there was a small pain in their wrists which made both of them look at the source of the pain.

"we're.. soulmates..?" the two asked each other.

senra's worry has now faded, and was replaced with an unexplainable happiness.

shima's questions earlier are now answered.

it's definitely not a she.

his voice is the greatest.

shima already loves senra.

he's definitely not arrogant.

and he's definitely the most beautiful person in shima's eyes.
