In the Battlefield,
Karabhera got down from his chariot. He picked up another mace. Aditya Varma also too a mace from his chariot. Karabhera spat to the side and swung the mace to the right. Varma countered the mace with his own. He pushed back Karabhera with a blow to his abdomen. He aimed the mace towards his opponents ear. The blow landed on Karabhera's right ear at the exact spot where the charioteer got hurt.

Aditya cheekily said catching his left ear, "I am sorry. It was well-meant."

Karabhera thrust his mace into Aditya's face leaving his jawline bleeding. He wiped his jaw with his left hand. He had angered the General purposefully. Karabhera was prone to make mistakes when angered or taunted. Aditya had noticed one thing during his fight with Karabhera. The General was predominantly left-handed. The next blow from Aditya's mace landed near Karabhera's left upper shoulder.

Both warriors strained against each other. Karabhera's energy was sagging. The blow to his left shoulder began hurting really badly now. He tried to fight with his right hand without putting too much pressure on the left. Aditya began targeting the spot beneath the left shoulder. He pummeled near the chest.

Karabhera could hear the cracking of his ribs. The pain was excruciating. He panted for breath. The next blow in the hereabouts and he would be a dead man. He looked at the position of the  sun. The sun had dipped lower in the horizon. He had to somehow fend off  till sunset when fighting would be called off.

But Aditya Varma now fought with a vengeance. He showed no signs of letting up. His blows came in quick succession. Karabhera could barely defend them. His head started feeling lightheaded. He shook his head for a moment to recover from it. In his exhaustion, he hadn't seen the next blow coming. Something within him snapped, and it was all silence. The conch sounded signaling the end of fighting for that day.

At the East War Camp,
Bhagiradhi was applying a herbal paste on Mrithyunjay's cuts and slashes. Her eyes welled up when she touched them. She quietly proceeded to treat and dress the wounds.

Mrithyunjay was talking about what happened at the battlefield, "Your uncle was like the raging sun. He broke through their lines and slew Karabhera. The other warriors also fought bravely. Samarth Mama never let me out of his sight. He and his group were constantly hovering near me while fighting their own battles."

Her tears fell on his back. Mrithyunjay drew her near him and wiped her tears, "No, Princess. Your tears are too precious. Save them for the birth of our first child."

Bhagiradhi picked up a piece of parchment and wrote, "Not fair! You don't let me cry even for you."

Mrithyunjay wrote back on the parchment, "Of course not! Your laughs and smiles are on me not your tears."

Her lips and cheeks curved to reveal a round dimple on her right cheek. Mrithyunjay excused himself, "If my treatment is done, do I have the permission to go? There is a war council meeting in a short while."

Bhagiradhi nodded her head letting him go.

At Mrithyunjay's War Council,
General Samarth began, "Before we begin congratulating ourselves for today, we must be prepared for tomorrow. We may rest assured that the Mahishmati army will come back at us pretty strongly."

Bhavani suggested, "Since we went offensive today, the Mahishmati army will expect us to do the same tomorrow. Narasimha will definitely go in for an attacking field formation after today's debacle. The opposing army will definitely try to target Mrithyunjay and my uncle. My suggestion is that we give them that chance."
