Chapter 5

No one's POV

"Enough about my minor problems, how did you get beaten up so bad?"

"Um, well. . ."

"You don't have to tell me if you don't want to. I know it might be a rough subject for you."

"No, it's okay. Before all of this happened, I was living my best life. I had two great friends, Jinyoung and Yugyeom. We grew up together, like siblings. Everyone said we were the biggest troublemakers in our pack. Everyone got mad at us at some point because of the mischief we caused. We thought we were unstoppable."

"You said you were. What happened? Did you guys fight?"

"No, nothing like that. Our parents wanted us to be more serious. They made us train a lot more, and we didn't get to see each other as much."

"Wow, that must have been rough."

"As you said earlier, it wasn't all that bad. I got stronger and faster, just like you guys."

"But you got separated from your friends, that's way worse."

"I guess. We were still close; we would sneak away every once and a while to hang out. We never stopped being friends."

"I'm glad you never lost your connection with them, but I still don't understand how you got hurt."

"I'm getting to that; be patient. When my parents thought I was mature enough, they told me that I had to get married. That's when they took me to meet with him, the new alpha. His name is Jaebum, but everyone calls him JB. His father had gotten sick, so he took his place.

"What happened when you met with him?"

"He was nice to me at first. We were given some time to talk to each other. I told him that I thought the whole marriage thing was crazy. He got furious all of a sudden and told me that it was his idea. Apparently, I'm so attractive that he must have me as his Luna. He said that if I didn't marry him, he would hurt me; that he would make my life a living hell. I told him I would never marry him. I practically screamed in his face."

"I bet he didn't take that well."

"Yeah. JB told me to run, and I did. I turned into my wolf and ran as fast as I could. I didn't think he would send guys after me. When they caught up to me, they started beating me. They covered me with these cuts and bruises. I tried to fight back, but they had a major advantage." A couple of tears roll down Jia's cheeks as she continues to tell her story.

"Jia, you don't have to say anymore."

"Why did this happen? Why did it have to end up this way?" That's when Felix pulls her into a hug. He rubs her back, letting her cry into his shoulder.

"Jia, I promise, I will never let anything like this happen to you again. The boys and I will protect you."

Jeongin's POV

I can't believe what I'm hearing. Jia really went through a lot. I'm glad Felix is in there to comfort her.

Jisung, Seungmin, and I are sitting outside of the guest room, listening in on the conversation. We told the older boys we were going to eat in my room, but we just wanted to make sure Jia was okay. When we got up here, Felix was talking about our pack. And instead of interrupting the conversation, we sat out in the hall and listened to the story.

The sound of Jia crying floated into the hall for us to hear. The last thing that was said was from Felix. "Jia, I promise, I will never let anything like this happen to you again. The boys and I will protect you."

Dang, that got emotional fast. Felix is right, though; if she needs protecting, then protecting she'll get.

"Felix, you can let the three boys in now." WHAT! Our eyes got wide and our hearts started pounding. Then Jisung whispers, "Scatter!" and we run to the closest bedroom, which happened to be Seungmin's.

We hear Felix open the door, then shout, "Jisung, I saw you. I know you're in Seungmin's room." Both Seungmin and I turn to Jisung. He smacks his forehead. What are we going to do with this boy?

Jisung walks out of the room by himself. "You too, Seungmin and Jeongin." How in the world did he do that?

"How did you know it was us?" I'm freaked out right now.

"You three are the only ones that it could be. The older boys wouldn't spy on us," He has a point. "You can come in if you want." It feels like my heart is going to pound out of my chest. I'm creeped out by how Jia and Felix knew we were here.

Jisung, Seungmin, and I follow Felix back into the guest room. We all sit down on the ground, left of the bed. Jia moves from the bed to the floor to be at our level.

"Boys, this is Jia. Jia, this is Jisung, Seungmin, and Jeongin." Felix points to each of us as he says our names.

It stays quiet for a few moments until Jia speaks up. "I guess you guys heard all of that." The three of us just nodded our heads.

"We won't tell anyone if you don't want us to," Jisung says with a sincere tone.

"No, it's okay, you can tell the other four guys. I guess they should know why a strange girl ended up in their house."

"First of all, you are not strange; second of all, why don't you tell them?" Felix asks.

"Because I don't want to talk about it anymore. I don't want to keep reliving it." It must be hard for her to talk about it.

"It's okay you don't have to tell them. We can tell the boys for you." I might have said that too cheerfully.

"Thanks, Jeongin." She smiles slightly, but it feels forced. I wish I could make her smile for real. I'm sure there will be plenty of chances for that. Her smile must be pretty, just like her sparkling eyes.

"Alright, boys, let's get out of here. We should let Jia get some more sleep." Felix stands up and goes to the door. The three of us stand and follow him.

"Hey, Jia. Don't worry; we'll make sure you're safe from now on." I try to say with a determined but calming tone.

"I'll hold you to that, Jeongin." That was the last thing anyone said before we left the room.

A/N: Do you guys like the dialogue form? I might use it in other chapters, cause it's a lot easier to write.

Also, I'm adding GOT7 into this fanfic! I wanted to use another JYP group as the other pack, so I chose the only other group that I stan within that company. Although I'm really sorry, I made JB the "bad guy." I know he is super sweet and nothing like what I described him as. I'm trying to go for a leader vs. leader kind of thing. I tried not to make him seem too mean. I was trying to make him have a really bad temper instead. It probably didn't seem like that though.

Anyway, that was a long author note, sorry. I hope you guys are liking the story so far!
