Chapter 6

Chan's POV

I don't know who to listen to. Felix, Jisung, Seungmin, and Jeongin are all talking at once, trying to tell us something. With all four of them talking, I can't understand anything. What is it with the youngest boys and being confusing?

"QUIET! You're giving me a headache. Felix is the only one allowed to talk." I know I sound mean, but I don't think I could've taken much more.

Once they're all silent, Felix starts the story again. "Okay, I went up to have dinner with Jia. We were talking a bit. Turns out she's our age; she'll be twenty in November. She asked me about the pack, and I told her all she wanted to know." I stopped him there.

"What did you tell her? I told you guys to be careful with what information we give her! We don't know if we can trust her yet! We don't need her giving our information to other packs!"

"Chan, calm down. Let Felix finish." Changbin puts his hand on my shoulder to stop me from yelling at the boys anymore.

"I didn't tell her a lot. She asked how many people live here and how old we are." That could be used against us. Big packs might see our small pack as a target to steal our territory. "I'm sorry if I made you mad, Chan. I didn't think I was telling her anything that she couldn't know."

"It's fine, Felix, just continue the story. Did you learn anything about her, other than her age?" Changbin can be too forgiving when it comes to the youngest members.

"She talked about her pack and how she got hurt." The other three start to shift uncomfortably. "She said she refused to marry the alpha. He got mad and sent guys to attack her." I can tell he didn't want to say that part. He won't look at us while he's talking and is fiddling with his fingers. "I'm sorry if that wasn't descriptive enough."

"It was enough, Felix. It can be hard to talk about things like this." Changbin can sense that it's hard for Felix to think about it. I'm still mad, but I can't imagine what he must have felt when Jia told him this story. "Why don't we go to bed early tonight. We worked hard today, we should get a bit more sleep than normal."

They all turn to me, asking for my permission. "Fine, go to bed." I'm not going to admit it to them, but I really need some sleep.

They all got up from their seats and headed towards their rooms. But before Felix could get to the stairs, I grabbed his arm and pulled him into the kitchen. "Did she tell you the name of the alpha?"

"Yeah, his name is JB." CRAP!

I march upstairs to the guest room and throw the door open. The girl is sitting on the bed, staring out the window. She jumps when I stomp in. I grab her arm and start to drag her out of the house. "You need to leave now!"

"Chan, what the hell are you doing?" Changbin yells. "You're hurting her!"

"I don't care, she needs to leave!" I pull her outside and push her to the ground. "Leave!" She looks at me scared. She didn't fight when I was dragging her behind me. Is she really that weak?

All of the boys are now standing behind me, afraid to do anything. Then Felix pushes through to the front. He goes up to the girl and kneels beside her. He slowly helps her stand up.

"Get back in the house, Felix!"

"No, not without her!" This is the first time I've heard him yell.

"She can't stay here! She'll bring too much trouble!" I am not in the mood to fight with him, with any of them.

"Why? Why does she have to leave? She hasn't done anything to any of us!" He has no clue how bad it is.

"Because if JB wants to marry her, then she is putting all of us in danger! If he figures out that she's here, he'll destroy our pack! I won't let that happen!" Don't fight back anymore, Felix.

"I promised her I would protect her! I won't break that promise!" He isn't going to back down.

I take a deep breath, trying to calm myself. "Felix, I don't want to fight with you. I'm doing this to protect you, all of you."

"I won't let her go back! No one deserves to go through what she did, especially not twice!" It looks like he's about to cry. "If you make her leave, then I'm going with her!"

Then everything's quiet. Felix and I are having some sort of staring contest because neither of us is blinking.

"We'll go with you." Jeongin walks out and stands next to Felix and Jia. Seungmin and Jisung follow him.

"I'll go too," Changbin walks past me to join them. "Chan, we won't leave if you let her stay." They just don't understand what kind of trouble JB will bring, but I can't just let them leave.

"Get back inside." I turn and walk to the house. "You can take her back in with you." I don't turn back, but I can hear them silently cheering. I hope I didn't just cause the end of our pack.
