Chapter 6: breakfast

The next morning, I was early and did my daily routine until I heard a knock on the door. I opened and saw Dino standing in the doorway, smiling at me.

"Good morning raggazza..." he said. I smiled "morning mirage," I greeted, stepping aside so he could enter my room. I closed the door and I froze "am I late?" I asked shocked looking at the clock.

Dino snorted amused "no raggazza... I came to pick you up," he said. I hummed and grabbed my shoes while Dino grabbed my guns and holster.

"Thanks," I said as he gave it to me. "How's your arm?" He asked. "Annoying pain... but not to bad!" I simply said. Dino looked worriedly at me. "Maybe we should visit ratchet..." he sighed.

"It's not that bad..." I sighed. Dino brushed some hair out of my face before he grabbed my hand, even it was bandaged he still inspected it as he could see through it.

"I'm just worried!" He finally said. I smiled weakly "alright... I'll visit ratchet after breakfast," I said. Dino accepted my answer and followed me through the halls. "I really enjoyed dinner last day! It was amazing! Even my mom isn't that good!" I said.

Dino started to smirk "I'm amazing, signora!" He said arrogantly and playfully bumped with his hip. I smirked and rolled my eyes "show-off!" I teased. Dino chuckled before we both entered the cafeteria.

Some soldiers glared at me "What did Sunstreaker do?" I suddenly asked. "Oh... he used his methods!" Dino said grimly. "Should I be worried about it?" I asked concerned. "No! Cause next time he won't be as polite as he did last time!" Dino said as he gave me a plate.

I hummed and grabbed some food before we both sat down next to the window. "So... I was actually curious... can I read your books?" He asked. I looked at him in surprise "if you really want that... but it's trash," I muttered without looking at him.

"What makes you think that?" He asked, looking straight in my eyes. "Uh... I'm not a writer, it was for me a way to escape reality! Someone betrayed me... and she left me behind with all the shit she caused! I don't know... the whole thing really upset me... and after she almost killed me..." I sighed and looked at the building outside.

"Someone tried to kill you?" He asked shocked. "Yeah... it's very complicated, but I told you my life changed," I said with a sigh. Dino gave me a worried look "so you want to tell me what happened?" He asked, sincerely worried and angry.

"I will... but I don't have time for that now," I said. He nodded and grabbed my hand "but you can read the books if you want," I said. He nodded and softly thumped the back of my hand.

"I know how it feels to be betrayed... I'm betrayed as well by my best friend!" He said sadly. "I'm sorry..." I said squeezing his hand softly to comfort him. "After that... I never really found another good friend... you know, someone I could trust and share everything with! Sure... Jazz is a good friend, but it's not the same..." He said with a sigh.

"... until you showed up," he finished. My eyes widened "me?!" I asked surprised. Dino gave a small nod "you're so pure and innocent! I don't know... I just feel I can share everything with you... I trust you! I trust you with everything... even with my life," he said.

"I'm a human!" I squeaked. Dino grasped my hand tighter in response "I know... but I still trust you! From the moment I saw you... I knew I can trust you! You're very... innocent and sweet... and things I do for you surprise you... cause you don't expect me to do anything for you... it's sweet... you've something innocent! Something I've never seen before! Last day... I was actually really upset about the whole ordeal with Mearing! She was far from nice to me... and when you showed up... it just completely faded away... you're the only one who can calm me down!" He said.

It sincerely surprised me, I didn't expect Dino to calm down cause of me. "And I hate to see how others treat you! Only because you're only eighteen years old! It pisses me off so badly! You deserve better than that!" He stated.

"So... I really want to know you better! I want to be there for you!" He said.l, looking straight into my eyes. I smiled "I would love to know you better too! I'm already crazy about you!" I said, making him smile widely. He got up and pulled me in a hug as he sat down next to me.

I hugged him back and closed my eyes for a moment "Optimus gave me a day off tomorrow!" He said as he pulled back. I smiled "that's great! I'm really curious how good you are in riding a horse!" I said with a smirk.

"It will surprise you!" He said, winking at me. I giggled and hugged him one last time before I turned back towards my breakfast. I gazed at the clock "I've to hurry! My shift starts within twenty minutes!" I said as I started to eat faster.

He smirked a little and we finished quickly, he grasped my hand and walked quickly over to the medwing. "She's in pain ratchet!" Dino said worriedly. "It's not that bad-..." Dino gave me a glare. I saw the worry in his eyes like I was stabbed and bleeding to death.

Ratchet grabbed a needle and I looked away so I wouldn't see it. Dino softly rubbed my back to comfort me. "This will work for a couple of hours... I'll give you these pills, only two a day and make there are six hours between each pill if the pain gets worse I want to see you back, it can mean it's getting infected or you ripped your stitches," he said.

I nodded in understand and thanked him before I followed Dino. "You're scared of needles huh!" He said after a short silence. "I don't really like them..." I muttered. "Why?" He asked. "Bad experience..." was my only reply. I didn't want to talk about it, I tried so hard to forget about it.

Dino kissed my head softly "mi dispiace, raggazza," he whispered. I looked confused at him "I said; I'm sorry," he subtitled. "Good luck with your shift! Please be careful!" He said. I nodded and hugged him before he left and took another hallway to get to the main hanger.
