Smile

I woke up and slipped on a picture perfect smile. I collected my bag and got dressed in white shorts and a lime green shirt, as I headed downstairs. I quickly went to the kitchen and snagged a protein shake, an apple, and a couple of other snacks while heading out for a run in the new neighborhood. I slipped my lucky Bobby pin out of my red hair and locked the door. I rushed into the arms of Mother Nature and ran about four miles before my legs began to clench in pain. I sat my butt down and munched on the goodies, basking in the little amounts of light as I watched the sunrise. After a while I got back up and headed back towards my new personal cage. The more I ran, the more I saw. The animals littering the forest was a sight for sore eyes. I quickly made a mental list to make sure that I bring snacks for them as I arrived to the back door of the mansion. I took the booby pin and ran upstairs, praying to god that my path won't cross another's. I guess my prayers went answered-for once in my pitiful life. I jumped into the shower and got presentable before heading to the kitchen once again and making a meal for my so called family.
Not long after the chocolate chip waffles were made, my two sister and my parents barged into the kitchen and took their seats. They stuffed their faces while I watched them eat with a smile on my face-before mother decided to throw a syrupy waffle onto the ground. She stood up and pressed my hands behind my back while pushing my face to the floor waffles-forcing me to eat like a dog while the rest of my family watched entertained. As I swallowed the last remaining piece, mother let me go. I said thank you for helping me finish my meal to her-with a smile of course. The minute she saw my smile she lost hers and threw a plate at me, forcing me to kneel on the broken shards. I kneeled on them and stood my ground as I bled. I desperately wanted to lose my smile and just cry, but I wouldn't let her or anyone else have the satisfactory of knowing that they broke me. Knowing that they broke me so bad, that all I want to do, is cry and curl up into bed hoping that I could go back to the one place that I left behind when I moved here. The one place that I  loved with all my heart. The one place that will always be a home to me. The one place that helped me gain my confidence, morals, and my smile. The one place that helped me feel a new-and that place was my kickboxing gym.
