Issues (A Ghostbird fanfic)

The Mall

"Ms. we're here!"

"Oh hmmm...thank you!"

"It's no problem ma'am, just wait one minute and I'll open your door. I need to get my southern gentleman card back, after I didn't close the taxi door, when you first barreled through." He teases while winking.

My checks flamed up, letting a nice strawberry glow settle onto my face, along with a soft genuine embarrassed smile. The taxi driver deserved a larger smile for his acts of kindness and aura of friendship surrounding him. I'm glad I met him.

" Thank you again, and I'm sorry about taking your card."

"Oh honey, it's no problem this is after all my job. And give me a favor doll, let the guys be gentleman like towards you, okay?"

I sent him a friendly nod and began taking baby steps to the mall entrance. I found myself behind a group of guys that reminded me a lot like the flawless guys from school, who had Victor in their group. I tried to move pass them, which led me walking into my first store, it was called Lush. It smelled heavenly, I had to resist from buying these things called bath bombs, and other things like soap-knowing that if they saw it in my bathroom, I would be skinned alive. I quickly left the store before I bought something that, I know, I would regret.

The next store I entered was Forever 21. It had a 90% of sale! I might not find many clothes, but I can still search for things. Their clothes are so cute! Each one can be layered with something new. The colors and designs are unique, yet everything in the store can work, blend, and pop with one another. You can buy three tops and bottoms and obtain 9 outfits. Any not even that-the prices are reasonable. There much, more reasonable than the prices I've seen on Sang and Marie's shopping bags. I shook my head, trying to forgot about them so that I could happily enjoy my time. I grabbed a couple of crop tops, leggings, sweatpants, hair ties, fuzzy socks, two cute jackets, a romper, two dresses, a pair of light blue fading mom jeans, black and dark blue skinny jeans, earrings, a silver choker with different sized necklaces, a towel, a purse, a wallet, a pack of assorted rings, sunglasses, and cute two piece bathing suit. I made sure to try on everything, switching up sizes here and there. Once I had finalized everything, I rushed towards the checkout lane. The lines getting bigger. I tapped my foot along with the music as I waited for the sales person to tell next.

"Next!"

Yay, it's finally my turn! I gave the lady a shy smile, which she returned confidently.

"Did you find everything alright, little bird?"

"Uh, yea, yes I did. Thank you."

"Of course little lady. Your total 117 dollars, but since I like you I'm going to give you a my employee discount. Don't tell anyone little bird; your new total is 60 dollars."

"Oh, thank you! Thank you so much!" I told her as my eyes bag I'm tearing up.

"Aww honey don't cry, it was no problem. I'm Gigi, can I know your name?

"Yea it's Ariel." I said while handing over the money and saying no to the receipt.

"Well it was nice meeting you around Ariel. Remember to stay in school kiddo. Take care!"

"I will! Take of yourself Gigi, and thank you once again!"

That was so fun and nice, now I just have to spend the 50 dollars mother gave me, and grab a receipt. A aroma hit my nose making me close my eyes, and I sniff out the scent until I had reached my destination without bumping into strangers. I opened my eyes and discovered it was Barnes and Noble. I discovered they were having a sale in schools supplies, so I went to that side of the room-everything was 70% off. I picked up three packs of mechanical pencils, two notebooks, one folder, a pack of glue sticks one sketchbook, a paint kit that had paint and brushes, two jumbo erasers, a pack of colored pencils, a pencil bag, a pencil sharpener, a pack of colorful pens, a navy blue shimmering ruler, and a pack of highlighters. After putting that in a basket, I saw a few bags on near the school supply table. I picked up a black back bag that had neon blue here and there, best part about it was that it came with a neon blue water bottle. I went to the checkout lane and handed my basket to the cashier.

"Your total is 50 dollars."

"Here you go. Can I grab the receipt?"

"Yea, here."

"Thank you. Have a nice day!"

As I started to head towards the exit, I passed Victor, who was looking at music sheets.

"Quiet Resources by Evelyn Stein is better than the one in your hand."

"Ariel! Hey. How are you?" Victor asked with a shocked but excited tone.

"I'm good, getting ready to head out. How are you?"

"Good, well I guess I'll see you later."

"Yea, sure. Bye Victor it was lovely to see you again." I told him with a sweet smile.

I decided to walk through the aisles, because a group of people just entered and blocking my exit way.

Thud!

I released a string of giggle, as I saw a very tall, large giant bumping into the shelves.

"Would you like some assistance?" I asked the giant with a smirk.

"Yes." He said with a light blush dusting the top of his cheeks. He also mumbled "δεν χρειάζομαι πραγματικά βοήθεια, αλλά θα ήταν αγενές να πούμε όχι σε έναν άγγελο ( I don't really need help, but it would be rude to say no to an angel).

I blushed a little, understanding what he said, but ignored it for now. I grabbed him by the shoulders and turned him so that he was standing sideways. One he was in that position I led him out of the aisle by his hand.

"Thank you! I'm Silas, you are?"

"No problem! I'm Ariel. Anyway I have to head out now. It was nice meeting you!"

"Nice meeting you to μικρή γοργόνα (little mermaid)."

I left Silas only to bump into a forest green eyed cutie.

"I'm so sorry!"

"It's okay."

"I'm Dakota Lee, but you can call me Kota."

"I'm Ariel. It nice to meet you."

"It's nice to meet you as well."

"Kota." Victor and Silas  called out in unison making me let out a giggle.

"Hey again,  guys."

"Oh, hey Ariel." They said again in unison.

"Would you like to grab lunch with us?" Asked Victor.

"Oh no, I'm good. Thank you though." I said as my stomach left a sound sound.

"You sure about that μικρή γοργόνα (little mermaid)." Silas asked with a slight smirk.

"Come on sweetie. We promise it's just going to be a quick snack. We can talk and get to know each other a little better." Kota said smoothly trying to get me to say yes, while Victor just looks at me with a pleading expression from behind Kota.

"Okay, yea, let's go to the food court." I said with a small smile.

I guess I did make friends today after all.
