I wake up on the beach again, the mystery person is waiting in front of me this time.
"You listened to your parents and stayed away from the water. You never touch the ocean and never stepped in puddles. You really should go for a swim." They tell me. Since this is a dream, I decide I should just get it over with this time. I walk towards the dry rock and step onto it before the mystery person even gets close to it. I go and stand at the top and sit down. I wait and watch the waves as the water wasn't suddenly flooding the area as it had before. When I finally turn around to talk to the mystery person again, they're gone. I'm not even scared this time. Maybe I overcame my fear? Maybe I won't have this dream anymore?
Just as I get that peaceful thought I see Sam running up to the beach, they have a black eye and they're crying.
"DYLAN! WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING!?" They yell at me.
"I'm finishing this dream and overcoming my fear, once and for all." I tell them, and they give me a horrified look.
"DYLAN, YOU FUCKING IDIOT, IT'S NOT A DREAM THIS TIME!" They tell me.
"OH SHIT!" I yell back. I start going down the rock to get off, but I stop in my tracks when I realize the rock is wet now, and so is the sand around it. The tide is slowly rising, I'm fucked. Sam is starting to run through the water to get to me and keeps telling me not to worry, the waves keep pushing them back though.
The water is getting closer to the top and closer to me, I'm running out of dry rock to stand on. Now I'm scared, I step back and stumble, nearly falling into the water. Sam tells me that they're going to get help and runs away to find help. Suddenly, a girl pops out of the water. I look at her in disbelief, shocked to see someone swimming so easily this far out in the waves.
"Come with me, I can help you." She says, reaching out her hand.
"I can't!" I frantically tell her, "I can't touch the water!" She quickly grabs my arm and pulls me off the rock. I fall, I expect to hit the water hard, I expect to feel it tingle and burn my whole body, and I expect to be pushed by the waves as I painfully die. What really happens is something I don't expect.
I feel the water hit me, and then the sensation immediately disappears. I open my eyes and I'm standing in the middle of a large patch of woods, there are no woods anywhere near where I live. What the fuck is happening?
