I open my eyes and I'm standing in front of a pool of blood. What the hell? I slowly look around, and there's a dead body in front of me. Holy shit, all her limbs are cut off. I think I'm gonna vomit. I look down at the puddle of blood next to my feet and slowly kneel in front of it. I carefully stick my hand into the crimson liquid, I feel sick, and suddenly I feel a hand grab mine and pull me through. I'm on the ground gagging, Sam keeps asking what happened. I stand up and hug them. We slowly walk towards the mall as I tell Sam about the crime scene I just got out of and they look about as scared as I felt. This isn't the ideal first-date topic. Did I say date? I meant hangout, friend hangout!
Anyway, Sam is trying to get my attention.
"Dylan, what if, what if this power is dangerous? I mean, can you even control where you go or how you come back?" Sam asks.
"Wait, control. That's it! If I can control where I go it wouldn't be dangerous anymore! I know I can because whenever I come back I'm thinking about wanting to come back and it happens!" I tell them.
"Are you sure?" They ask.
"Yeah, of course I am! I just have to test it out, trial and error, ya know?" I reply.
"Just be careful." They say. I nod.
I close my eyes and think about where I want to go. I think about wanting to go somewhere familiar and yet different. I set my goal in my mind, and I jump. When I open my eyes I'm at the mall, but Sam is nowhere around. I decide to go to the beach to see if my friends are there and explore this place.
I walk along the edges of where the sand meets the grass for a while, but then I hear my name from behind me. I spin around and see Sam, I start walking towards them but a boy runs past me and playfully kicks up sand at them. They start walking toward me and stop when they see me, a voice from behind me makes me turn around again.
"Whoa, holy hell, are you seeing what I'm seeing?" A girl asks, she's with a guy and another girl.
"Damn Dylan, you never told me you had a twin sister." The guy says, he looks like basically a boy version of Ashley. Wait, this is a gender-swapped version of home.
"Yo shut up Asher." The girl, who's obviously this world's Troy, replies.
"Whatever Trinity, you're just jealous you didn't spot her first." Asher replies.
"Hey, am I the only one kinda freaked out by this?" The girl Luke cuts in.
"Chill Lexi, we don't look that similar, do we?" The other Dylan asks. You know how in sci-fi stuff they always say if you see another version of yourself it breaks reality or something? Well, I'm looking at myself and nothing is happening. We spin around each other, then we both look at the Sam of this world, their shocked face glancing between him and me. Their expression then turns to worry.
"You're not supposed to be here."
