She scrolled down her spotify, searching for a playlist with some soothing songs for her to relax for few moments. Soon enough, she found, with a collection of soft, meaningful and soothing songs. She tapped on shuffle and, instantly, the sound of the intro of the song with piano playing reached her ears through her earphones; she soon in her safe place.
"Say Something" by A Great Big World featuring Christina Aguilera has always been a favorite of hers. She had a habit of imagining the song, while listening to it. As she listened closely to the song, and tried to understand the context of the song. That's when, she felt something inside her pinch.
She, soon, imagined asking someone to say something, which was pretty easily understood. But, the more she paid attention to the lyrics, the more she would understand the song. She started to imagine herself in it, lip syncing along the song, as if she is the one saying those words. She thought someone to whom she would be saying those words to, but she couldn't think of anyone. Instead, she saw her-own-self in her imagination.
In the matter of few seconds, she felt a tear roll down her cheek. She could feel her heart ache, thinking of all those times when she kept quiet and let things happen. No matter, how much she desperately wanted to scream and cry, but she didn't. All the times when she wanted to curl up in a ball, or when she just wanted to be invisible, or just get swallowed by the earth. And now, here, she was listening to the song, and crying in her bed.
