Chapter 9

Lucifer's POV

There stood my third in command Hunter with a blood covered face and his mate's dead body near him. I ran to him and saw a huge cut across his face.

"What happened Hunter?" I asked him.

"All because of you, useless Alpha," he yelled at me.

"What did I do?"

"It's because of your carelessness I lost my mate now."

"What?"

"Yeah, it's because you didn't take up the responsibility and you went missing that I lost my mate now," he yelled at the top of his lungs. I began to get angry.

"Don't talk to our Alpha that way," Chase said to Hunter.

"What actually happened?" Macy asked.

"We were having a date in the posh hotel near the border of our territory. That is when Lucy heard some weird growls. Before we could think a big black rouge wolf attacked Lucy straight on her neck. Another grey wolf slapped across my face with its paw. I tried to mindlink this useless Alpha but he had blocked his thoughts," he said glaring at me. 

'So that is how they entered my mate's territory,' I thought to myself.

"Look, Hunter your loss cannot to replaced, but I say you I will find those rouges and kill them with my hands, and it's a promise," I told him.

"Don't underestimate them Lucifer they are much stronger than us," Chase told me.

"I will-" I was cut off by my phone.

It was Daisy. "Lucifer, is this you?" She asked me sobbing.

"Yes pup, what happened? I am so sorry. I didn't mean anything I spoke," I said in a caring tone.

"Don't come to see me anymore. I hate you. Please get lost from my life," she said and began sobbing.

"What happened, dear? Please fo-" before I could finish she ended the call.

I turned to Hunter and said, "Please forgive me, Hunter. Go to the hospital now." 

Then I turned to Chase and said, "Make all arrangements. I am going to take the post of Alpha this evening in front of our pack members." With that I left to my house.

I sat on my bed and started thinking, 'I am rejected. I am the cause of a innocent girl's death. Am I capable of being an Alpha? What if I fail? What if I put my pack in danger? I want my mom now. She is the only one who could answer all my thoughts. I promise to find you as soon as possible mom. I will not bring a shame to your name, dad. From now on, I will try to be a good leader to my pack.' With those thoughts I fell on my bed and slept.

I got up to my phone ringing. It was Chase.

"Hello, Lucifer; all the arrangements are made where are you?"

"I will be there in few minutes." With that I ended the call.

I took a hot shower and changed myself into formal white shirt and black jean and started to the pack house.

All my pack members stood in front of me. All I had to do was take an oath saying I will be their Alpha there after. Though I did it already on my 18th birthday when the responsibility passed from my dad to me, I wanted to do it again. I wanted them to know that I was ready to become an Alpha. I calmed myself and started to talk. . .
