Chapter 2

Lucifer’s POV

Though my wolf called out ‘mate!’ so eagerly and wanted to have her so bad that he was about to go insane, I couldn’t allow him to do as he pleased, because if I was mated, I would become a full Alpha. That thought alone made me feel threatened. I turned towards the glass in front of me and filled it with vodka.

After a few minutes, I sensed a boy walking towards my mate and my eyes snapped in that direction. “Urgh, this stupid wolf is driving me insane!” I grumbled to myself silently. As he neared her I began to get angry. How dare he approach my mate?! He took her slender hands and kissed them. That made me spring up from my seat. As I am Alpha, I can hear even the lowest of whispers.

“Hey beautiful, I didn’t know your pack had such a gorgeous girl,” he said seductively to my mate. I clenched my fists tightly. My wolf wanted full control. He wanted to tear that fucker into pieces, and I could barely control him.

My fury reached its limit when I saw her blush. What?! She blushed! Does it mean she enjoyed that comment? Does she like him?! I will kill him! “MINE MINE MINE MINE!” my wolf chanted insistently.

Without a word, I turned to face a different direction and left the house before I went crazy and did something reckless. I tried to knock some sense into myself. I couldn’t possibly be thinking these jealous thoughts just because some random guy tried to hit on her.

I know I don’t want a steady relationship. Or do I? I just want to sleep with random girls, drink, and party around. Trust me, I really do. Hmm, I need some work convincing myself there. Before opening my car, I saw through the window something that made my blood boil. My mate was dancing with that guy! I growled and stormed back to the party.

I went straight to my mate and shoved that guy roughly away while pulling her in and placing my lips on hers. Man she felt good. Immediately, she responded to my kiss. Did she also feel the same way? Hope expanded in my chest. I looked deep into her beautiful emerald orbs before pulling away. Placing my face in her shoulder, I sniffed in her delicious scent and whispered, “Mine.”

As soon as I said that word she pushed me away and ran, without even bothering to look back. What the…?! Did I do something wrong?

Daisy’s POV

My mate turned away from me just when a boy started to walk in my direction. He was pretty hot, but of course, not as hot as my mate. He stood in front of me and kissed my hands. I can already feel the anger my mate is feeling now because his eyes turned pitch black.

“Hey beautiful, I didn’t know your pack had such a gorgeous girl,” he said seductively to me. A blush appeared on my cheeks without my permission. Oh god, Wolfy is going to be MAD. But what I didn’t expect was that he just went out abruptly. Ouch, that hurt. Didn’t he care at all? This boy’s next words brought me out of my thoughts. “Can I dance with you?”

                            

I simply nodded without thinking much. But before I knew it the poor guy was pulled away from me and soft lips were placed on mine. It must have been because of Gloria, my wolf, that I responded. Our lips moved in sync. It felt like heaven. We kissed for a few minutes before he pulled away. Then, he placed his head on my shoulder and sniffed my neck. “Mine,” he whispered.

I pushed him away quickly and ran out of the house. I had to remind myself repeatedly that he only felt this attraction to me because of the mate bond, and not because he genuinely liked me. However the minute I was apart from my mate, my stomach hurt like hell, but I didn’t go back. After all, it was better getting hurt physically than to get my heart broken.

“I’m sorry Gloria. I know you want him, but I just don’t want us to get hurt,” I apologized to my wolf.

“It’s okay, I understand,” she sighed. I thanked the lords for giving me a wolf who always supported my decisions and was also my best friend.
