The New Girls

(Main foyer.)

Rochelle: Hi. Are you the girls I'm supposed to show around?

(Marina, Olivia and Lily are shown in the corridors, where it’s a little shaded.)

Marina: We are.

Rochelle: Octo High is a great school. You're really gonna love it.

Marina: Oh, yes, we really sense there's something... magical about this place.

(The girls follow Rochelle into the corridors.)

(A bit later)

Rochelle: That's the science lab. Computer lab is in there. (Sees the poster from earlier.) Oh! We're having a big musical showcase this weekend! The whole school is pretty much rallying around it.

Marina: [gasps] A musical showcase?

Rochelle: I'm sure since you're new, Principal Inkling would let you sign up if you're interested.

Olivia: We have been known to sing from time to time.

Lily: Hello? We sing, like, all the time! It's how we get people to do what we want.

Marina: [growls and gestures to ‘zip your lip’ at Lily.]

Lily: Wha-What did I say?

Marina: What you meant to say was that being in a musical showcase sounds like a great way to meet other students.

Lily: Ohhhh, yeah. Th-What she said I meant to say. That's what I meant. To say.

Olivia: [scoffs] And what you would have said if you weren't the worst.

Lily: You are!

Marina: You'll have to excuse them. They're idiots.

Olivia and Lily: Hmph.

(The red pendents start shimmering. Rochelle becomes interested.)

Rochelle: [nervous laugh] Those are pretty. Where did you—

(She reaches her hand to touch Marina’s pendent, but Marina stops her.)

Marina: [laughs nervously] Sorry. These pendants mean an awful lot to us. We'd just hate for anything to happen to them.

(The girls walk off, which the exception of Lily who gets pulled away by the other 2. Rochelle looks concerned.)
