The Octonauts Band's Newest Member

(Outside the school)

Barnacles: It doesn't make any sense. I should have been able to create the spark that would help us break their spell. That's how it worked before.

Rochelle: But to defeat me, you drew magic from the compass I was holding. The sirens' magic comes from their music. So maybe you have to use the same kind of magic to defeat them. (Thinking more into it) Or… maybe not.

Barnacles: No. I think you're onto something.

Rochelle: Really?

Barnacles: It's when you play music that you transform now, right?

Tweak: Yup. Ears, tails, the whole shebang.

Barnacles: So maybe the way to use that magic to defeat the sirens is by playing a musical counter-spell!

Peso: You mean, like a song?

Barnacles: Uh-huh. And in order to free everyone who's been exposed to the sirens' spell, we'll need them all to hear it.

Rest of main cast: Hmmm…

Dashi: [gasps] The band competition! That's the next time we can be certain everyone will be in the same place at the same time.

Tweak: Guess the Octonauts are the band to beat.

Dashi: And I believe you, Barnacles, just became the Octonauts' newest member.

Rest of main cast: [laughing and cheering as they run over to their new member]

(Rochelle looks upset that they didn’t ask her.)

Shellington: So what do you wanna play?

Barnacles: I have an accordion… oh, but that means I’ll have to go back and get it. 

Peso: Why don’t you just sing?

Kwazii: Like, as in, lead singer? Cuz that's usually my gig. This being my band and all.

Tweak: It's our band! And, of course, as lead singer. He’s the one with the magical know-how to help us pull this thing off. And he is Captain of his crew back home.

Kwazii: Okay, yeah, that's cool. I'll just use this as a chance to hone my already insanely good lead guitar skills.

Barnacles: It's only temporary. And we don't have to win the Battle of the Bands. We just have to perform during the first round of the competition.

Kwazii: Let's get to learning that musical counter-spell!

Barnacles: Well, that's just it. I don't know any.

Rest of main cast: Awww…

Barnacles: But I'm sure I could figure out how to write one.

Tunip: Totally! Barnacles can lead a group like it's nobody's business. That's pretty much how he got to become a Captain in our world.

Barnacles: Technically, I helped a crew out as a cub and worked my way up. And there was a little more to it than that, Tunip.

Tunip: Yeah, whatever.

Barnacles: I've got this. [to Tunip and picking him up] C’mon!

Tweak: Where're you goin’?

Barnacles: Well, last time we were here, Tunip and I spent the night in the library.

Shellington: I have a better idea. Why don’t we have a slumber party at my house?

Barnacles: You sure?

Shellington: We need some good friendship bonding time, and this will help out with that.

Barnacles: Well… alright.

Tunip: Yes!
