Everything felt like I was submerged underwater, the sounds moving slowly past my ears and I couldn't take in enough air to keep my heartbeat down.
That's all Gerard's fault, by the way.
The kiss that we shared was the most amazing thing I've ever done or felt in my life, his lips on mine were heaven, and his hand cupping my face provided me with enough warmth to make it through the winter season.
I never knew how amazing it would be to be able to kiss the guy I've hated for years.
I also never knew that as soon as I did, I would realize how in love with him I was the whole time.
Gerard has this thing about him, this pull, like the tide when the sun goes down and the moon comes closer, and then the ocean draws in to the sand closer than it was before in the daytime.
That's how Gerard felt to me, I was the tide and he was the moon.
And after the kiss broke apart it was like he knew it too.
We looked into each other's eyes for a good 10 minutes, neither of us knew what to say.
Nothing needed to be said anyways, the kiss was perfect and we both knew if we talked it would ruin the moment we were sharing.
But obviously, no moment can last forever, because just then my mom decided to open the door.
"Times up!" She exclaimed, leaning against the frame of the door with a sly, knowing smile.
Gerard and I practically jumped away from eachother as if we were on fire, my cheeks blazing red with heat.
"It's 10:30 already?" I question coughing nervously after my voice cracked slightly.
"Mhm." She hummed, amused.
My gaze flicked to Gerard quickly and he was staring at my mom his mouth slightly agape.
"So, did you boys kiss and makeup yet?" My mom asked looking between the both of us.
The question made my cheeks burn even more out of embarrassment and I saw Gerard's eyes widen before he quickly got up. "No! We didn't kiss why would you think we kissed? Why would we have to kiss to make up?"
My mom burst out laughing at his sudden outburst.
"Sweetie, it's a saying 'kiss and makeup'. I wasn't asking if you guys actually kissed, but judging from the reaction you had..." She trailed off looking at the both of us with a smile.
"Oh." He said quietly looking at me then quickly looking down to his shoes.
I just stared at them not knowing what to do.
Why was Gerard quick to say he didn't kiss me- wouldn't kiss me?
I got up silently pushing past my mom and making my way to the bathroom where I could finally piss in a toilet instead of out the window or in a fucking water bottle.
After finishing up in the bathroom, I walked back to my room where Gerard and my mom were still standing there.
I looked at the both of them for a few moments trying to collect my thoughts and maybe figure out what's going through Gerard's head also.
My mom cleared her throat and smiled at us, clearing pleased that it seems we don't completely hate eachother anymore. "So, boys, shall we go eat some lunch?"
I gave her a weak smile and nod before making my way to the kitchen.
I heard her and Gerard following behind me.
