Axel's POV:

"It's good to be back"

It was the fourth time Marc had said that once we got off of the plane after finishing our mission in Mexico, so it wasn't a shock when Raven slapped the back of his headroom the backseat.

"Shut mouth Marcus"

We all chuckled as we settled back into ourselves.  Coming back after a year of undercover assignments was always going to be difficult but all of our team needed a break from Charleston.

"Do you think much has changed?" Corey thought aloud.

We hadn't been in contact with any family members, we only got check -ins from Phil and some of the Blackbourne team we were closer to.

"North mentioned that Phil hadn't been as present as he usually was, something about family matters"

North had been keeping Brandon and all of us up to date since Phil pretty much disappeared, it was surprising since none of us thought he had much family outside the academy but family first and we couldn't hold that against him.

"Did you find out any more about the people who moved in upstairs Corey?"

I hadn't been concerned when Phil told me since we had only just arrived in Mexico when they moved in but now it seemed important to make sure they weren't a risk.

"Erm not really Axe, they're probably academy though. Two brothers Noah and Luca Castillo, 18 and 19."

It was strange but not unknown, I doubt they'd cause any problems.

My phone rang from the cup holder and Marc put it on speaker, the screen read Owen Blackbourne.

"Mr Toma, I am aware that you have only just returned to the country but my team requires assistance"

Owen has always been reluctant to ask for help so it must be pretty bad, so I don't hesitate.

"Where? What's the situation?"

He rattles off the address of a warehouse and starts explaining the situation.

"My team is closing up our Ashley Waters investigation and started to breach, when it turned south. They pulled out guns and they weren't prepared for the ambush, Kota redlined me and Dr Green is currently working so I am unable to contact him"

I quickly drove us to the destination where we could hear shouts and gunfire.

"Ok everyone, grab your weapons from the back. Marc stay in the car in case we need a quick exit."

We all hopped out, except Marc, focused on the matter at hand.

"Be careful in there. The priority is to get the younger members of the Blackbourne team out" 

We opened the doors of the huge building and were greeted by fighting. Silas was fighting a guy with a knife pulled and Brandon immediately went to assist.

Once the boys had noticed our presence, they seemed more confident. From what I could see, it was only Luke that was injured as he seemed to be slumped against the far wall, well covered from the gunfire and Corey ran to help as North was busy avoiding being shot whilst protecting him.

We almost had the situation handled as we had zip tied most around 15 of the men and more academy members were on the way.

As soon as we thought it was safe, we started to check on Luke but a man in the rafters had gone unnoticed and aimed a gun at Corey who was hovering over Luke.

"Corey!"

I knew it was too late when I heard the sound of the gun go off multiple times and was relieved when I saw the shooter get hit by Nathan who had taken one of the men's guns and Corey stood shocked.
