All of Dazai's life he has always felt... empty. It was feeling that never went away and was one of the only things that was a constant throughout his life. He remembers being younger and seeing all the other children laughing and playing without a care to the world. He was never like that. Of course he used to be a lot better when he was younger back when he had his mother to go to for comfort, but now with her gone all he ever feels is this gnawing emptiness within him.

For many years he's put on a fake smile and pretended everything was alright whilst slowly dying on the inside, but that's one positive about being in the mafia, he doesn't have to put on an act anymore because no one cares about anything except themselves. Dazai still remembers that day when he had thrown himself off a bridge unable to handle living anymore and woke up in a doctors office being tended to by a man named Mori Ogai.

Dazai's always been clever for his age and so it was easy to tell that this was no ordinary doctor. This Mori person had a dark and evil aura emitting from him that even the most of cheeriness smiles could not hide,

"Ah, it seems you're finally awake! That fall from the bridge to the water must have been at least 50 ft so you're very lucky to have survived. My name's Mori and I was the one who saved you from death's grasp"

"I-I didn't die..." Dazai mumbled to himself sitting up faster then he probably should have because the next thing he knew stars were swimming around in his vision.

"I wouldn't sit up if I were you. I said you were lucky to survive but that doesn't mean that your body hasn't taken a beating." Mori gently pushed Dazai back onto the bed staring at the teen curiously.

"Why couldn't you have just let me die?" Dazai frowned, slightly irritated with the fact that this was his 5th suicide attempt failed.

"Well I'm a doctor aren't I? Its my duty to save people!"

Dazai looked straight into the violet eyes feeling an unpleasant tingle go up his spine. This 'doctor' or whatever he wants to call himself may sound sincere but the look in his eyes says that his intentions had nothing to do with simply saving him.

for some odd reason Dazai finds that idea oddly comforting. He hates when people care or pity him. Pity only makes him feel weak and it has no use in this world but to harm others.

"Does anyone know what happened to me?" Dazai asked already knowing the answer.

"No. I made sure that your identity was kept hidden from the hospital ward."

"I'm guessing that you already know who I am then."

"Yes. Yes I do."

Mori's face suddenly fell from his cheerful facade and now he looked quite serious and even possibly angry.

"You have such a beautiful gift, it's such a shame that your father not only hides it from the world but has tried to 'exterminate' it. I've been searching for you for quite some time now, an ability like yours deserves to be used well and not be kept hidden in the shadows. Don't you agree Dazai?"

"So you only saved me because of my ability?"

"For the most part yes, that was my reason for saving you."

Dazai continued staring at the mans face trying to figure out just who he was. He says that he's a doctor but then why would he want his ability? He had no healing properties of any sort so it made no sense plus he knew about his 'situation' and overall has a very unnerving aura to him. Dazai's brain whirled and the only conclusion that he could come to was that his occupation as a doctor was only a front for something darker.
