To Bring Back What Once Was Mine

"Masyadong malalim ang iniisip mo..." Ang mas lalo pang lumalim na boses ni Toby ang humila sa akin pabalik sa realidad. I slightly tilted my head to face him.

"Hey," I greeted with a faint smile on my lips. He smiled back at me as he pushes a deep sigh before sitting beside me.

"Kumain ka na ba, Jess?" Tanong niya bigla sa akin.

Umiling ako. "I'm fine..."

"You have to eat. You've been working for 10 hours straight..." He said.

"Mamaya kakain ako," I told him. But I don't know if I'd be able to get the appetite to eat later. I just said that to make him stop.

Mabuti na nga lang at hindi si Majai ito dahil sigurado ako, talagang hindi ako titigilan no'n. Majai has been always beside me, making sure that I'm okay.

"Kumusta si Tito Samuel?" I asked him, still looking at the sky as the cold wind keeps on blowing my hair and skin.

"He's getting better. His physician told us that he can go home tomorrow."

Toby's built has changed a lot, he's now taller and he got broader. His built proves that he's not only working out with his brain but also with his body.

A lot has happened after that night, that night when my father died. I didn't know how to break the horrible news to my mother, I've lost my words, my capability to think because all I can feel is my the pain consuming every vein in my body.

It took five long months to finally get the justice for my father. Romualdo was found dead and those armed guys who killed my dad in the woods are now in jail with a lot of cases filed against them.

Aside from being a murderer, they were also involved in illegal possesion of drugs and firearms, they have committed so many crimes and killed a lot of people. People who could have been happily living with their families right now.

They all deserve to be put in jail. Actually, some didn't even made it jail dahil napatay ang mga iba dahil sinubukan nilang manlaban sa mga pulis. Kulang pa 'yon... They deserve to be punished severely for what they did.

It was just a month after getting the justice for my father... my mother died. Hindi kinaya ng puso niya ang pagkawala ng aking ama. Every day she gets weaker and weaker.
