Wake Up (Law X Reader)

Chapter VII

Law stud again in front of room 207. The day prior he had excused himself after your little whisper thing, it was just so weird to him but after talking thinking about it he came to the conclusion that there was nothing to be worry about and he was just tired. He dismissed his thoughts again and entered room 207, but something wasn't right

-Good mor...- you were not there. Your bed was messed up and the old laptop was there already out of battery. Law knocked on the bathroom door but you didn't answer, making him open it just to find no one there- Ms. L/N? - he called you- Y/N-ya? - he excited the room worried, looking for the nearest nurse- have you seen 207 patient?

-The H/C girl? - she asked confused, Law nodded with a dead serious expression in his face- she walked that way a few moments ago- Law walked into the direction the nurse gave him not looking back but cursing at her for not stopping you from leaving your room

He walked fast through the hospital, checking inside certain rooms and asking everyone he encounter about your whereabouts, he managed follow some of the places you were but somehow every time he arrived you had already left. He got annoyed and frustrated.

-Law? - Penguin asked bumping into him, Law had this menacing aura around him that screamed danger, he was tired of looking for you- is everything okay?

-Have you seen 207 patient? - he repeated for the 26th time ignoring his question

-Yes, she's right in that section- Penguin pointed to a section- are you sure you are...? - Law walked away ignoring Penguin while he just studs there confused

Law walked inside the section and saw your face; he had finally got you. He was ready to call you up so you could go back to your room for the check up and then your muscle therapy but something caught him by surprise. He was on the kids' section of the hospital. He took long enough to realize, he didn't notice the sudden change of wallpaper and the colorful shapes and toys scattered around the area, but he did notice a bunch of kids listening to you as you read them a book. He felt something warm on his chest seeing you reading them, all listening carefully, some even laying on your lap to be more comfortable. You looked happy

- when the cat walked back home he saw the moon shinning bright- you said still reading the book, Law had stayed there listening to you read it as well, obviously behind your back not to disturb you- the cat opened the door and saw his mom still waiting for him on the couch... he smiled and slowly approached her and snuggled next to her, going to sleep as well when he heard his mother's voice said "Good night my angel"- you slowly closed the book

-We want another book! - said one of the kids getting closer to you

-Yes! Read us this one! - a girl said

-No, no, no read us this one! - a boy approached her with a bright red book

-She'll be more than happy to read another book- Law's voice behind you send shivers down your spine, you turned to face him with the best smile you could put on- but she has to take her medicine and a quick check up- you didn't meant to go out of your room, but you were bored and the nurse didn't stop you so you thought it was okay to see a different area of the hospital- now let's go- he said with a serious expression scaring the kids around you

-Don't take her monster! - said one of the kids throwing a plush to Law's face, being followed by the other kids

-Stop right there little brats! - he complained angry, he could easily throw the toys back at them

-Wait kids, he's a good guy- you said standing in between- he's here to help me feel better just like your doctors, I'll come here later to read you all I promise- the kids left the toys but kept looking at Law as you both walked away, Law glared at them with his annoyed face while they all stacked their tongs out to him- give them a break

-But they...

-They are bored- you excused them; it was true. That's why you were there, you saw them not doing anything but being medicated for them to feel better, not being able to go out or play harsh games. Law didn't dare to comment on it- I'm sorry for leaving my room

-Tell a nurse where you are heading next time or ask someone to go with you- that's all he said, he could have yelled at you but sometime just wouldn't let him.

-Law? - Sachi caught his attention while walking back, he was surprised to see him around that part of the hospital and he was even more surprised to see him with another human being- is that patient of room 207? - he asked

-Y/N L/N, nice to meet you- you presented yourself offering your hand for a shake, Sachi was confused yet he was more than happy to meet you

-Sachi- he shook your hand while Law glanced at him with a disappointed look, he hated when they used their names so carelessly, it was not professional at all- are you heading to your room?

-Yes, Dr. Trafalgar is helping me get back- he smiled. He smiled? Why would he smile? He immediately removed his smile before one of you could notice- it was nice meeting you

-The pleasure is mine- Sachi said waving like an idiot as you and Law walked away, Law hurrying you up to avoid you and Sachi interacting more, if he talked to much he'll talk about things he didn't wanted to talk about and maybe spill the tea about him staying in your room for a whole month while you were still on a comma

-Your friend seems nice- you spoke as he was doing the check up, he turned his attention to you for a moment but he didn't answer, continuing with the checkup- Is Penguin your friend too? - Law didn't answer again, it was a topic he didn't discuss with patients or people in general, they were his friends but he just didn't admit it- are they... your lovers? - he looked at you confused and defensive

-They are not! - he responded- they are just my colleagues! - you smiled, he was funny to tease

-I know, I was just kidding- you winked at him playfully, but he couldn't react properly, he just stared at you even more confused- I'm sorry, I just made you uncomfortable

-Just don't mention it again- he managed to say getting back to the check up before someone knocked the door, a big old man opened it. He looked in his 50's yet it was pretty imponent and looked out of place there- can I help you? - the man didn't even look at Law, his stare was stuck on you

-I'm so sorry honey...- he said approaching you with a sad smile- Norma said it wasn't a good idea visiting you until you woke up

-It's okay boss, I'm glad you came to see me- he patted your head, nicely- Norma's right, what's the point of visiting me if I wasn't awake anyway?

-Well I heard that sometimes people in comas can listen or smell things even in their sleep- Law tensed up when he heard that, was there a chance that you knew? Maybe his voice or his smell, maybe something he had done? - I'm just glad to see your kiddo, I brought you a phone so you can text me when you are out of here and... - he looked in his pocket- your apartment keys

-I don't know what I would do without your boss- you ignored Law who was testing your pulse and hugged your boss, he was like a father to you

-Can you at least wait until I'm done? - Law said annoyed

-Who's this guy? - your boss asked looking at him with a dead serious face

-Dr. Trafalgar, he's my doctor until I leave here- you looked at him right in the eyes- he's making sure I'm getting better and not... falling into a comma again- you knew how protective your boss was- he's doing a great job

-I'm glad to hear that Y/N- your boss confronted Law, who even being with a guy so big and scary didn't show fear or nervousness but annoyance- When can she go back to her routine?

-When she feels ready to do it, but she needs to do it slow until she's a 100% recovered- Law crossed his arms- until that, I'm here to take care of her
